Josh Doesn’t Like To Lose
It will probably be awhile before NESN goes live on-air again for a Josh Beckett press conference. I, on the other hand, was delighted to see him unguarded after today’s loss – where he dropped a few cuss words in his 90 second clip, including a mighty f-bomb. He’s pissed- you can practically see him simmering under the surface- but doesn’t lose his cool.
To Josh’s credit, he flatly refused to allow the press to blame the Sox loss on poor run support (which it absolutely was– Josh pitched lights-out ball with the exception of the two pitches he discusses in the p.c.), and instead straight up shoulders the blame as the fault of him getting out-pitched.
Joshua Patrick, for your hotness on the mound on Tuesday and today (despite the L) and your even hotter performance in the press room, you’re my Baseball Boyfriend Of The Week. I’ll always find a well-placed cuss word from a man to be sexy.
Yup, he’s very pissed, but he does at least have it all under control. I’d rather the ace of the staff drop F-bombs live on NESN than start punching dugout phones or something…
Agreed- and I actually enjoyed the cussing. Then again, I am from Texas.

I came home from the game and went right to the DVD recorder. I had to see his reaction. I knew it would be memorable, but when he dropped that F-bomb….even I, the true Bostonian who enjoys a good F-bomb herself…sucked in my breath. I couldn’t believe that NESN isn’t smart enough YET to put a delay on Josh. I loved it. He was himself. My theory on Josh….he throws those words out there hoping that if he uses them enough, maybe the reporters won’t want to talk to him. LOL Just a theory. Even in his cussed filled state, he was damn hot!! Good choice! :)
Nice video Texy. That’s not the first time they have had to do that but that was his best press conference so far this season.
I’m so glad someone caught this and posted it. Josh Beckett in all all of his frank, colorful-language-infused greatness. Juat awesome.
But NESN really should consider doing his PCs on tape delay from now on. Think of the children! :)
Whereas I wish NESN would go live for another round of Beckett-y goodness. I like hearing him unvarnished and unbleeped.
