On NESN’s Red Sox Report for this week, they show that Beckett did in fact dance in Colorado…but it wasn’t the crazy-jig shit Paps does, but rather a kind of an 8th-grade-winter-formal tango-y thing with one of the coaches, complete with spins and stuff.

it’s also got him looking at the Wheaties box and going “how did this happen?……(laughs and holds box up)….Model of constiency! Model of consistency!” whatever that means:-P And there’s a bunch of great stuff with the other guys too. I’ve got it DVR’d but have no clue how to get it from there, NESN will definitely replay it though.

Meg: that video is HILARIOUS. So Josh is perfectly happy to give Curt a hard time for not dancing… and yet I don’t think he’d volunteer for the job. (though we did see him shake his bootie after the ‘03 Marlins win!)

Anyone else jealous of ally for getting to be there in person?

Thank so much for posting such a great account of the rally! I wanted to be there so badly but my boss didn’t think a day trip from Dallas was worth it to give me the time off :( But at least I get to watch it!

You’ve set some high standards for yourself, TG. I was completely expecting all of these vids. :)

I’m still basking in the glow of it all. I’m not even very disappointed that Beckett chickened out on his pledge, particularly since the more I see of the wacked out Papelbon, the more I think I wouldn’t want to be next to him either. (Your “trained monkey” analogy reminds me of a great Theo Epstein quote about Josh from awhile back; “He’s kind of an anit-establishment guy. If you say east, he’ll say west, even when he knows it’s east.”)

Ah, heaven. I only wish I could’ve actually gone to the parade, but at least now I can watch it over and over and over…

I was on the fence at city hall plaza and josh’s boat stopped right next to me. they should have thrown him on a boat with some younger guys

I can’t imagine Papelbon handling the the carbombs very well…it’s probably the reason that Papi said he was throwing up “all over the place” on the flight home.

There’s a grainy video here of Beckett seeming to have a good time at some point…the crowd starts chanting “Schilling Dance!” and he seems to be kind of leading it,
and then he does a very animated eyeroll (you can tell even though he’s got sunglasses on) when Schill points to his ankle and shakes his head:
