Red Sox Go Celtics Green

Friday marked the home opener for the Boston Celtics- and the hometown men in green honored the hometown men in red during the pregame festivities.
The Celtics played a video tribute to the World Champion ‘07 Red Sox on the jumbotrons above the court, before bringing owner John Henry and president Larry Lucchino and several of the Red Sox – including Tim Wakefield, Manny Delcarmen, Jacoby Ellsbury and Clay Buchholz – and the championship trophy out to center court. Of course they couldn’t close out the occasion without playing “Sweet Caroline” over the PA for everyone to sing along to.

is it just me or does jacoby seem freaked out by boston? what happened to clay’s hair?!
Jacoby is probably wondering when that “Who’s hotter – Jacoby or taco sauce?” question is going to be thrown out again.
And Clay’s hair…maybe he brushed it?
Sorry Jacoby, you look awful in green! Time to throw the orange back on for a few months!
It doesn’t help Jacoby that he’s got a plastic looking jacket on while the rest of them have normal shirts. :)
Here’s how stupid I am: I looked at those photos and I was like, “Why did the Celtics sign a short Native American guy? He must be good inside the paint or something.” It took me a second to realize, THAT’S JACOBY ELLSBURY, DUMMY.

God. I love all these guys so much. Especially Jacoby–I loved that “taco sauce or Jacoby” question, I can’t believe someone asked that. I bet he was all flattered and abashed and adorable. …Yeah, okay, I’m gonna stop now. :D
But Clay’s hair looks good, I think. He should brush it more often. Those ribs, though… kid’s gotta bulk up over the winter!
Ian’s right. The 2 WS trophies, plus Henry, Lucchino and Werner were at the Bruins game on Thursday. I was there – I’ll try to send you some pics once I sift through all of the snapping I did – and it totally psyched the crowd up. I’m pretty sure the crowd was more excited about the trophies than the game itself. There was also a montage to the 2007 team, though no Sweet Caroline.
Agree with Liza – Clay needs to gain some weight. Though, spending the winter with Josh Beckett and shooting meat all the time should pretty much do it for him. I can picture him now trying to spit fire BBQ a deer …
What I wouldn’t give to be a fly in the wall this winter down at Beckett’s ranch.
