re: Curt's letter from the Sox

That's lovely. I can't even imagine how awesome it would be to go into your office at Fenway and write a letter like that AS YOUR JOB.

I'm so glad Wake is back--we really need him, as one of the only knuckleballers in the game and just as veteran support for all our young guys. We need Timlin, though. I can't imagine a bullpen without him. Just like Paps. COME BACK MIKEY TIM!

Schilling--I think he's done here. Of course I want to see him back, but if we possibly get Glavine (!?), then we'll have too many starters. Beckett, Dice-K, Wakefield, Lester, Buchholz, Schilling, Glavine? That's a 7-man rotation, and 8 if you add in Tavarez. Tooooo many.

RE-SIGN LOWELL! RE-SIGN LOWELL!

Danielson is supposed to be really, really good. I can't wait to see how he does here. But--do we really need another young, talented outfielder? We already have Moss and Ellsbury...

There's my reaction. :)

I was THRILLED to hear Farrell was staying...it will be so beneficial to have him around for Buch and Lester, and I'm hoping that the work he does this off-season with Dice-K will work out his few "adjustment issues" so he can be the ass kicker we know he is capable of being. I've heard the Yanks are going to offer 5 years/70 milliion for Lowell...and I doubt the Sox will be willing to match that.:-( I find it kind of ammusing that it would be the exact same amounts as the Drew deal though. I like Glavine, but it doesn't seem to make much sense for an NL guy to move to the AL for the last year of his career. We'll see what happens...
