And YES, jennyagain- there was a dugout cam. I saved some of the video from Game 3 of the ALDS, I think, when Curt pitched. I’ll upload it – like I said, no sound… but it’s still fascinating to watch.

Spent last night at the premiere of the 2007 World Series Video release. Unfortunately someone forgot to get me the clothing memo. So I showed up looking like I had just finished cutting wood, with everyone else in suit and tie. I guess the Red Carpet should have been a tip off

And I wish they’d just include all the ALCS games in the DVD set. Hell, include the ALDS games, too! Or even a few random awesome games from the season! I dunno, I can’t be alone in wanting to have even the games we lost? Because there were still some good things about those games. I mean, I really do not want to see that seven-run fifth inning of Game 4 of the ALCS, but I would love to see those first four scoreless innings Tim Wakefield pitched again.

And yeah, I like John Farrell a lot. Um, obviously. They could just have a whole movie of him talking; I’d so buy it. I’m also really glad he’s staying.. though I am very curious to see how he’d manage a team. Pittsburgh, though. Yeesh.

I really really want that dugout feed.

And that end credits stuff you’re talking about is exactly the kind of stuff I like to see. Those random moments caught on camera that give you way more insight into these guys’ personalities than 10,000 newspaper articles or press conferences ever could. Like, the Royce Clayton, “I ain’t got my taco”, or Papelbon mugging for the bullpen camera, or Dougie hugging Beckett in the dugout, etc.

During the first round of the playoffs, when the ALDS games were on TBS, they had a special simulcast thing online at MLB.TV, where one feed was the normal game, one feed was the batter’s eye view, one was the pitcher’s view, and one feed was a dugout cam. Seriously, the whole game… a feed of nothing but the dugout. There was no sound, though.

Imagine: dugout/bullpen simulcast feeds with sound. If you could get that on DirecTV… awesome.

The Damon ad-lib was a real hit–they’d told us to be alert for something from him that was just for those of us at the premiere!

I enjoyed the film… but… of course, it’s the World Series film. And what I really want to see is what NESN is working on, something that covers the whole season. At the end of the film, under the credits, they were playing the kind of things I wanted to see: Kyle Snyder in the dugout doing some kind of belly roll, Buck closing out his no-hitter, a shot of Kason Gabbard, etc. Not the purpose of the film, sure, but just watching the World Series coverage was kinda like sitting down to a wonderful dinner without being hungry.

I can’t begin to tell you how hard it would have been to watch if we hadn’t resigned Lowell yet!

Much advertising of the DVD box coming out, though it still ticks me off that ALCS Game 1 isn’t going to be in there.

And Schill’s outfit was kind of hilarious. I have to say, when he said he was glad he was going to be spending the last year of his career here–”home–everyone ate it up. It was lovely.

It was just really nice to be in an environment with all those Sox fans, and to be able to relive the postseason again. Everyone got really into it and was cheering and clapping throughout, whenever there’d be a good play or something. The theater is very fancy and it was kind of funny to see everyone decked out in Red Sox gear, eating popcorn and Cracker Jacks and sipping beer there. I thought the film was really well-done. It devoted about ten seconds to the losses to Cleveland, but whatever. I was happy with it. Oh, and two clips of John Farrell talking! I started cheering when he came on and, um, no one else did. That was a little awkward. Oh, and they showed my favorite moment (possibly ever of life) of Dusty jumping up to hug Papi after his home run in Game 7 of the ALCS. Four times, no less! Aww.

OH and “Suck on it, New York”? Was hilarious. The whole tone of the movie was completely different so it caught me by surprise. I had no idea it was only for that screening. Haha, that was really awesome.

Anyway, I had a great time, and it was fun to be back in the baseball season for a little. And I’m glad to hear about the NESN doc.
