Merry Christmas

A very Merry Christmas to each and every one of you who celebrate this holiday today – and for those of you celebrating other holidays (or not at all!), let me substitute in a wish for a happy holiday season and wintertime instead. There’s no snow on the ground here in the boonies outside Houston, but it always feels like Christmas anyway when there are carols playing, and hot chocolate brewing.

Hopefully Santa was good to everyone – he sure knew just what to bring me this year (RED SOX STUFF, OF COURSE). I would love to hear what Sox-ian gifts everyone got this season!

And I want to take a moment to thank all of y’all for helping to make this year so special for me. I am constantly cracking up at the witty and funny comments around here – and learning a bunch about baseball and our team at the same time. And you’ll never know how much those emails you send mean to me as well — whether it’s a quick little note about some news item you ran across that interested you, or a picture of Josh Beckett, or kind words about the blog. I cannot overstate how much fun it is to hear from y’all- I am tickled pink every time. I am always available to talk Red Sox or baseball or sports, period- so feel free to email anytime (just forgive me if I’m slow to respond!). I am so very thankful to have such a great group of readers… I can’t wait to see what 2008 brings!

Merry Christmas! (I tried to get a sign saying “Welcome to Colorado” or something to stick in the foreground, but alas, I couldn’t find one.)

Love your site–just found it in October.

This morning, hours apart and across town from each other, my buddy and I actually cried when we opened our presents from our wives…opening day tix! I’m telling ya–it was the best present we ever got. Now we need two more for them.

    Thanks, Texas Gal, for everything!

Alas, the end of the Advent Calendar has left a Texas-sized void in my web viewing pleasure.

Currently, I’m reading “A Great and Glorious Game” Baseball Writings of A. Bartlett Giamatti. It’s a short read so I’m counting on your creativity to kick in and help me out. :)

I am officially jealous of you, Rick. If your wife gives you opening day tickets, you KNOW you’ve found a keeper.

Muse- you can always email me by clicking on that “CONTACT” link at the top of the main page.

I need a new baseball book, starr4. Although my brother did get me that GIANT phonebook-sized Baseball Encyclopedia for christmas, and I am very tempted to read it cover-to-cover like a novel.

For people who need baseball books: I got three, all really interesting–Feeding the Monster by Seth Mnookin, The Numbers Game by Alan Schwarz, and Great Baseball Writing, which is a collection of pieces from Sports Illustrated. I’m halfway through the first and beginning the second.

Rick, I would cry, too. Don’t worry.

I love this blog–great fun. My husband was too good to me (as always). He got me an official Sox home jersey, Paps of course ;-)!! I can’t wait for the A’s to sell single game seats, because I’m going to snatch up some great seats for when the Sox come to CA.

    Merry Christmas to all!

yeah, Texas Gal, you really are the greatest. Lots of fun to read.

And I got a Varitek jersey, the NESN dvd, and a really lame pink blanket with a big white B on it.
(It matches my 5 year old girl bedroom.)

For those looking for more baseball reading, let me heartily recommend “Sandy Koufax: A Lefty’s Legacy” by Jane Leavey. Good writing about a great pitcher.

Thanks Liza and Texas gal for the other book recommendations.

I loooooove this site, it’s an every day visit!

My hubby hooked me up with Spring Training tickets this year, we’ll be seeing the Sox take on the Twinkies (in his card, he wrote, “just in case”) and Balitmore.

Also got my Boston Sports Propaganda prints framed, a new Lowell Jersey and a sweatshirt (which will get lots of wear in hot as Hell FL)

    Happy Holidays!

I just got a late Christmas present in the form of Josh Beckett wheaties.

Which are even better than Papi wheaties.

  24. 2007 December 27 at 2:34 pm

I still don’t have those Beckett Wheaties yet – which is a crime.
