Just because.

Thanks to educated cheese at SoSH for the photo, and see the Herald for the story behind the picture.

“I froze my (expletive deleted) (body parts) off.”

LOL at the Heralds “editing.” I love Papi.

I wonder what POSSIBLY could have been those censored words?

I’m gonna go with “fucking nuts”.

The Hartford Courant’s blog has more on the story too.

Kyle Synder rode from the hospital to the airport in the sidecar.

Snyder rode in the sidecar too? They (i.e. Tito) must have looked at the team and gone “Hmm, which would look funniest riding in the sidecar? Let’s take the 6′8″ guy and the 270 pound guy!”

TG – “Fucking nuts” sounds about right. I still want to know what it really was.

Meg – Definitely. If they had one more trip, though, they should’ve picked Pedroia. The super-tall guy, the super-short guy, and the Papi.

Here is what Snyder said. From the Hartford Courant Sox blog.

Kyle Snyder had it the worst. Francona only went from the airport to the White House, then Ortiz to Walter Reed. The longest trip was Walter Reed back to Reagan National, after the sun went down.

“I didn’t feel my face about five minutes into it,” said Snyder, who volunteered. “I knew what I was in store for. All the same, it was pretty cool to be part of a police escort. About halfway through, I was helping them direct traffic.”

Snyder had the added comfort of trying to cram his 6-foot-8 frame into the car. And he didn’t wear a police helmet, since Ortiz kept his as a souvenier.

“Zero leg room,” Snyder said. “I was really surprised actually how small it was. I saw David in it and I was like, I’ve got to be able to fit in it. I thought [the helmet] looked a little too funny. I’m not sure it would have fit me, with my hair, although David’s hair is a little bit longer, too.”

Before this picture I never noticed how Papi resembles Gary Coleman.

I LOVE him. Without a doubt Theo’s best signing. EVER. he’s so positive all the time too. They should retire his number, seriously.

can we elect him Governor? or like a 2nd mayor? I think he and Menino would be hijinx and hilarity together.

I keep coming back to this picture cuz it just makes me smile. man, spring training is great…all sunshine, and rainbows, and happy healthy HOT guys playing catch in their gym shorts, and everybody’s still a winner. none of that end-of-august stress and me yelling at the tv in the 6th inning, “Tito – Dice-K is DONE, and you got A-Rod at the plate, what the F, take him out already!!! rrrghhH!”
