Virtual Waiting Room, Part The Third

No, I didn’t get selected from the Green Monster ticket lottery (of course not!) – but I’m spending another day in futility all the same, courtesy of the Chicago Cubs. This will be the third time in the last three months I’ve spent an entire day waiting in a VWR (December and January for Sox, now February for Cubs) — and I expect for the results to be more of the same… meaning, I’ll get absolutely no tickets.

After two days waiting in the Rockies VWR for Series tickets, two Sox VWRs, and five Sox lottery draws since September without getting a single ticket, I’m beginning to wonder if my Mac is cursed. Though I suppose if my Mac is cursed, it will be only fitting if the Cubs billy goat can break it. 100 years without a World Series title… and counting!

Good news is… I’ll be at the computer, so I can post some fun things while I wait.

If it makes you feel better, I think my streak of winning lotteries with the Red Sox is over as I wasn’t selected either.

At least you have Sean Casey on Comcast tonight at 6:30 to cheer you up.

Have never won a lottery either (love how they keep giving you a discount for the Red Sox.com store). I might go the Rangers/Royals route. Has anyone ever tried to get tickets for a Sox/Rangers or Sox/Royals game? It’s got to be better than scoring tickets for Fenway.

I’m starting to wonder if I should be offended. There were three Sox postseason lotteries – didn’t get drawn once. Two so far this year – nada. Heck, I didn’t get drawn for Phillies playoff tickets either. Or the Astros-Sox games in Houston. ACK! Lotteries and VWRs hate me!

Okie Sox: I know a lot of people go that route. You will DEFINITELY get tickets in Arlington or KC easier than in Boston.

TG: I’ve had good luck using the phone for tickets. Yes, I’ve put my time in the VWR but I scored tix via phone.

TG: thanks for the encouragement. I think single game Rangers tickets go on sale March 1, but will have to check out KC…..

Best of luck with the Cubs! By the way, there’s an interesting article in the Herald today about Josh “journaling.” OY! My daughter “journals” in third grade.

I’m 0/5 with the lotteries too, and I’m also on a Mac…AND the luck I had in the Sox ticket VWR in January was while I was on my desktop PC…so maybe it is a Mac thing:-P
