As I read how little players made then and the fuss that led to the Mets dumping Tom Seaver, mostly cause he demanded more money, as was his due as the best pitcher of the era, I can't help but marvel at the salaries today's players are getting, demanding, thinking they deserve. As I titter on the brink of gettin' political, I'll stop and politely suggest we recall that it wasn't all that long ago that a 775K salary was considered an insane salary to pay a ball player.
