Even better than beating the shit out of things… beating the shit out of a sake barrel so everyone can get drunk.
Papelbon with that helmet, now that is good.
Speaking of beating the shit out of things, Huston Street did the same for the A’s.
The combined awesome (and by “awesome” I mean “hot”) of Huston Street, Justin Duchscherer, Jacoby Ellsbury, et. al. in the same game will be so amazing. I can’t wait–less than 4 days until opening day!
Papelbon is…special. And that is why he is my favorite. Anyone else wearing that helmet would be odd. But with Paps, it’s pretty normal.

Why am I not at all surprised Big Papi would have a suitcase that doesn’t blend in?
As I just posted over n my journal, Paps is just trying to protect himself in case of a sudden Godzilla attack.
Ellsbury needs to take a cue from Dice and Papi and where his glasses.

Some other truly awesome things:
1. REAL(ISH) BASEBALL BEING PLAYED RIGHT NOW IN JAPAN.
2. MLB.com’s Gameday! I forgot how much I love (and by “love” I mean “hate”) this frickin’ thing.
3. The fact that the Sox are already winning 4-0 against Hanshin.
4. The fact that one of those runs came off a huge homer by David Ortiz.
5. The fact that the other three runs came off of a huge homer by JD Drew (as well as a walk by Manny and a single by Lowell)–no left field, no less.
6. The fact that Clay threw 9/14 pitches in the first inning for strikes!
I love baseball.
If I thought anyone else but me was watching this game, I’d have done an open gameday thread.

I was with it right through the classic close by Pap.
