Guess Who’s Back, Back Again – Beckett’s Back, Tell A Friend
Oh blessed, heavenly day.
With the dawning of a new day, today brings the return of the asskickingest man this side of the Mississippi.

All this losing only makes Josh Beckett madder… and that’s not good for anyone who doesn’t sport a “B” on their ballcap.
Back spasms and hip problems (yep, there were also hip problems) be damned, Beckett’s back to claim his rightful spot as The Ace and pull the Sox out of their losing streak up north of the border. The boys from Atlanta (TBS) are comin’ a callin’ for the marquee matchup of Beckett versus Toronto’s Roy Halladay. And you know I’ll have a gameday open thread for you, of course.
I’m crossing fingers NESN forgets the time-delay button for Josh’s postgame press conference, because we could all use a full dose of his f-bomb littered discussion of executing pitches. I would be equally happy with an on-camera shot of him destroying a water cooler in the dugout, just for old time’s sake.
Beckett’s triumphant return also means the demotion for one of the bullpen boys – and since the full slate of likely candidates (Bryan Corey, David Aardsma, Kyle Snyder, and Javier Lopez) are all out of options, the unlucky loser (Kyle Snyder) will hit the waiver wire. He won’t be there alone for long, because when Timlin’s back off the DL any day now, another member of the Black Pearl bullpen band will be joining him.
But for now, I’m just basking in the Beckett-glow. Oh, how I’ve missed it.

It’s Kyle
Oh, you said that.
Note to self: no posting before coffee.
I feel like such a smartypants because I totally called this– fc (and I think TG too) can verify–
I said his back spasms were caused by his hip destabilizing over loose soil. I said it was his hip that was at the root of the problem THAT VERY DAY.
That being said, my own briliance aside, there’s still no reason to think that this will be a recurring problem.
And oh it feels so good to have our man back on the mound.
I do not like the shaggy mountain man look on Beckett.
I do like that he’s pitching today, though.
Oh happy day! Have waited for this since game 1 of the WS last year. Too bad I can’t watch it, but thanks to DVR, I can go back and watch as many times as I want after today. Which might be what I’ll do!
Everyone have fun watching the game today! Got a feeling we might pull this one out this afternoon. Just call it a hunch! :)
This post is how I felt this morning. Actually it’s still how I feel about Beckett, at least. The rest of the team…not so much (I’m looking at you in particular, Julio).
I’ll try to find solace in Drew looking great thus far and Josh pitching a lot better than his line indicates. Going to be a long off day, though.
Even though Papelbon will always be my favorite, I do love Beckett too. He may be a redneck at times, but he is hot. I think any fan wouldn’t mind giving him a back rub to help.
the facial pubes need to disappear.
