Going to be an interesting game tonight.

Vote for Pleats in Cleats to be the catcher in the 9th inning.

I would DIE to see Pleats behind the plate – in his regulation little league-sized catcher gear.

  3. 2008 April 22 at 6:57 pm

And if they lose tonight, I’m blaming the Earth Day logo on the uni.

  4. 2008 April 22 at 6:58 pm

I really think everyone wants to see it. Even if it’s just a picture of him in catcher’s gear.

Has he ever been a catcher?

  6. 2008 April 22 at 6:59 pm

He said the last time he caught was back in high school.

LOL on your strikethroughs for the Angels!

Yes, it should be an interesting game.

:: says prayers to see Pleats in catcher gear ::

And I know this shit is Skanks news but it’s pretty funny.

No candy for the Skanks players.

  9. 2008 April 22 at 7:02 pm

How many vicodins and Marlboro Reds did it take to get RemDawg in the booth tonight?

Ya gotta love the NESN montages. Here comes the BOOM

Was it just me or was Jerry trying to to laugh when mentioning that Dustin might be the back up catcher?

  13. 2008 April 22 at 7:04 pm

I think he was trying to laugh but that’s probably just because he’s probably high on pain meds.

I’m scoring the game tonight- because on the off-chance Pleats makes it in as a C, I want to have a record for posterity.

I’m sorry… but can I ask why Dustin is called Pleats? Is that an in-crowd thing?

  17. 2008 April 22 at 7:06 pm

Come on boys!!! Let’s get a win for Tito on his 49th birthday.

  18. 2008 April 22 at 7:07 pm

We shall leave that explanation to Texy.

mh…Pedroia’s pleated pants in the tire commercials earned him that nickname.

Ah yes. Those were pretty awful.

I guess I decided to block them from my memory.

  22. 2008 April 22 at 7:11 pm

And now it appears Commander Kickass cost George Kottaras or Dusty Brown a call-up. Had he started it would have been one of those two called up instead of Pauley.

Let’s go Vlad. Daddy needs some stats for his fantasy team. But he’s the only one allowed to do anything.

HAH, IAN. You are only allowed to root for your fantasy players… so long as they are not playing the Sox.

mhc: yep – I made fun of his pleated pants one night, and then referred to him as “Pleats In Cleats”… and it kind of stuck.

Those were the most pleated pants I’ve seen. They were the first thing I noticed when I saw the commercial. Well, that and his spectacular acting ;-)

I can live with that Texy. I’ll keep those comments to myself.

He’s the only Angels player I have on my team.

I wrote about this in my morning post. There’s no way you can take Ellsbury out of the lineup when Coco gets back. The Sox are 8-1 in games he’s the lead-off hitter.

Let it be known I just had to make a victory lap around the cubicle farm and get a double-high-five from my neighbor who doesn’t give half a shit about baseball.

    All for Ells.

    Nice work, kid.

  32. 2008 April 22 at 7:19 pm

    Question????

Didn’t batting practice end about an hour or so ago?

Does anyone else suspect that Ellsbury and Pedroia have some kind of weird competition going on at the leadoff spots there? “Let’s see who can crush the ball this inning”?

  35. 2008 April 22 at 7:21 pm

    RemDawg: Base running boo-boo.

wouldn’t you normally hear something like base running error or mistake.

    God I love RemDawg

I unfortunately couldn’t find an audiostream. It’s eerily silent here in my kitchen.

Happy Earth Day, everyone. I remember when it was a brand new concept. Yep, I’m old.

And Happy Birthday, Tito! You have now caught up to me.

Jerad Weaver’s on my fantasy team. I left him in because my pitchers only seem to do well when I accidentally leave them on the bench.

jules, I like that — a Sox shrine. Making a mental note for the next time I redecorate my cubicle. I already am using Sox pics for my desktop wallpaper, and just today I changed my screensaver to a rotating text that says “Don’t worry, be Manny.”

I have the photo of the 2007 banner as the wallpaper on my PC (I rarely use it, but I like to have it looking good ;-) and the MLB RSS feed as the screensaver for my Mac. My fav is my poster of Fenway from a photo I took while on the tour last year.

Gotta run to get the kidlet ready for a school retreat and cook dinner…
