Don’t worry, Bethie, I’m right there with you. Say it all you want! (cupping hand to ear…hey yeah, I can hear you all the way up here in AVL).

It’s random, I know, but after seeing this at Piney’s LJ, I somehow managed to find this video that I think is pretty awesome starting at about 3:50. Maybe it’s just me, but I think it’s pretty cool.
I think all of the females here will appreciate it more than Ian, though…

the earth day patches totally remind me of the recycling bins at college which had the leprechaun in the center and said “recyclin’ irish” around the edge. ;D

    Don’t call it a comeback
    I been here for years
    Rockin’ my peers
    Puttin’ suckers in fear
Makin’ the tears rain down like a monsoon
Listen to the bass go boom
    Explosion, overpowerin’
    Over the competition, I’m towerin’
    Records shock
    When I drop these lyrics
That’ll make you call the cops
    Don’t you dare stare
    You betta move
Don’t ever compare me to the rest
They’ll all get sliced and diced
    Competition’s payin’ the price

Thank god Cash knows how to catch a knuckleball – that skill came in handy catching YoYo’s wild pitching.

Bethie – I know I’m commenting on this late, but Camden is SO FUN for the Sox wknd….bars behind the park set up tents for all the extra fans and have a block party….more Sox fans than Orioles!

Theboys are out…fighting for a bday present for Tito….but I’m still hoping they pull so far ahead Pleats needs to suit up the kids gear!

I’m glad I’ve heard good things about Camden, cause that will probably be my ballpark of choice just for convenience. There is no way in hell I will brave Atlanta for a ball game again, so the o’s park is gonna be it.

    And that call was BS!!

Hey Bethie, so is Atlanta an experience I can skip? I’ve actually never been to a major league game and was thinking that one of these years, if the right team was playing there, I could check it out, but…

    Woohoo, radio!

Also, Bethie – I’ve gone to Camden Yards a few times, and it’s been one of the best ballpark experiences I’ve ever had each time. Go for it!

  23. 2008 April 22 at 9:17 pm

(sees Pauley’s line) Ouch, and here I was thinking he’d have a good night. I knew the only player whose actions I could predict was Jed…

  24. 2008 April 22 at 9:19 pm

I enjoyed Atlanta’s ballpark. Of course it wasn’t the new one when I went there. Plus I like the nightlife in hotlanta.

nj, you got that right! I’ve got audio, Will have to watch the earlier scoring plays in a moment.

So…my transformation from (that other team’s) fan to a member of RED SOX NATION is complete, y’all! (doing happy dance).

  26. 2008 April 22 at 9:21 pm

Is anyone else listening to WRKO?
I would definitely not want Bonds to me my babysitter…Who in the world would trust him with their kids?

Hello! I just got back from watching my teacher fire off a cannon!

  29. 2008 April 22 at 9:23 pm

I guess I should explain for anyone lucky enough to actually be watching…
They just said that Gary Matthews (the guy who was just batting) had Barry Bonds as his babysitter when he was younger… and now they’re both suspected to be using HGH…

  30. 2008 April 22 at 9:24 pm

Ian, I wouldn’t hesitate to go if they were still playing at Fulton County Stadium. Went to lots of games there. But, I went for a game in 99 and never made in the gate. I didn’t have tickets and thought I would try to get some at the park. Yeah right. I never found anywhere to park and got pissed off just trying to navigate through that mess, I got fed up and went back to the hotel. LOL

Atlanta is a cool city, spent a lot of time there and saw a lot of ball games there, but I don’t think I would go there now if I had a choice to go somewhere else. That’s just me though.

Oh, man, I have video footage…he shot off a mortar and a cannon, and when he fired the mortar he used real cannonballs. I’m uploading the video right now…I’ll link everyone when it’s all done!

ecl, with the GD Audio subscription you can also watch archived games the next day, which is pretty cool because you can go back and see what everyone here was talking about when some has a nice play or something.

For example, go here to watch yesterday’s game.

(rolls her eyes) Can we call up Dusty Brown?

  44. 2008 April 22 at 9:31 pm

ecl, go across where it says “Tex @ Bos” and click 400k under mlb.tv or 800k under mlb.tv premium
(800 is better quality, so I’d choose that)

Back in my performing days, my band played around Atlanta and Athens now and then. Didn’t really get to sample the night life because we were providing entertainment in the evening ourselves, but I remember spending a couple of fun afternoons in some funky area that I *think* was called Little Five Points, but am not sure.

Oh WOW — so I can access mlb.tv stuff? Yeah! And 800k will work just fine — I’ve got broadband.

  47. 2008 April 22 at 9:35 pm

ecl, The ‘A’ next to it means it’s archived, so those are the ones that you can watch. Once you get there and your media player loads, you can click the ‘full screen’ button to make it look like you’re watching it on a full-sized tv!
You can move the slider-bar-thing if you want to play at a certain point. When the white screen comes up that says MLB Break in the Action, that means there was a commercial there on the real broadcast, so you can just skip over it by moving the slider a few minutes down.
