Yeah, he got robbed on that. We would’ve had the game tied up… (I’m on no sleep, too, so I’m overreacting and crap. Sorry…)

Lugo must be immune to whatever’s going around in the clubhouse. It’s nice to finally see him and J.D. hitting! They both look so much better offensively this season, and I’m really excited about that.

fc, if you’ve got it for Youk like 18 has it for Jed, you’ve got it bad ;-)

If you go to this link, they have some possibilities for who pitches when. Wake is too good in Tropicana for them to push him up to tmw I’m guessing.

Seconding you, jules. I have a tag on my LJ that reads ‘I am obsessed with Jed Lowrie,’ and I have used it almost seventy times. I am positively pathetic.

Hmmmm….interesting. If they bring back Snyder I might cry. After I get over my flashbacks from Japan. :)

    NICE ONE Jon. K!

It’s gonna interesting to see who they decide. Tavarez is out probably because of pitching almost 2 innings last night.

  8. 2008 April 23 at 7:52 pm

Hooray, a strikeout! That’s it, Jon, settle down!

18- Its getting to the point where I’m almost obsessed with David Wright of the Mets

  10. 2008 April 23 at 7:53 pm

I can rule a starter out for now, at least – Charlie Zink is still making his start tomorrow in Pawtucket as of now. (He is a knuckleballer, which is cool.)

  11. 2008 April 23 at 7:54 pm

Erin, I don’t blame you – David’s awesome. My parents and kid brother are Mets fans (I’ll actually be at Shea the first day I’m home from college!), so I see quite a lot of David around. He and Jose Reyes are just so fun to watch…

David Wright is on my fantasy team. He is my favorite non Red Sox player.

  15. 2008 April 23 at 7:57 pm

I think this is my favorite Mets picture ever. It’s Wright and Reyes, and Jose’s got David in a headlock. It’s awesome.

Vlad is my favorite baseball player that’s never been on the Sox, and Angels are my second favorite team. But first is the Sox- just to make it clear where my loyalty is. ;)

    Yay Kevin Ca$h!

    YAY! C’mon Dustin! RBIs!

  22. 2008 April 23 at 8:01 pm

    Yay Jacoby! I like.

(has the Yankees and White Sox on TV right now) I feel so weird with Garland on the Angels…I keep thinking he’s still with Chicago.

  23. 2008 April 23 at 8:01 pm

Here we go! Ellsbury and Pleats showing them again!

Steph, are you going to watch NYY/CWS or are you just checking in? I thought briefly about watching that (it’s on here too) just to keep tabs so I wouldn’t sound dumb if discussing baseball with my NY cousins who don’t know I switched sides…but I’d much rather be over here with y’all!

    Yay college.

  28. 2008 April 23 at 8:06 pm

ECL – I’m staying here. I’ve got the Sox on the radio and the other Sox on ESPN. (I want to see Moose vs. Quentin because they both went to Stanford and I’m a dork like that because of Jed, so…yeah.)

Yep…he’s adorable. And he’s proving every game he plays that big things can come in small packages. Cause he’s whoopin everyone’s ass.

To my eyes, Dustin resembles a turtle, at least from the side, especially when he makes that weird little grimace at the plate.

  33. 2008 April 23 at 8:08 pm

Dustin Pedroia is the reason I own an ASU hat. (My OSU and Stanford ones for Jacoby and Jed are currently in the mail on their way here.) Dustin is also the reason I love the Pac-10 Conference – he and Jacoby showed me what those kids can do out there, and I was so impressed I started following the conference. I’m glad I did – I didn’t realize just how much I would love college ball, and I adore it now!

  34. 2008 April 23 at 8:10 pm

More college. I absolutely love the eyeblack – could he have it on any thicker?

    C’mon, JD, let’s do this!

Bethie, I forget where it was on line, but today I read some opinion regarding the ass-whoopin’ being perpetrated on teams by several people, who the writer described as “the little guys,” as in Dustin, Jacoby and Julio. Actually, I never thought of Jacoby as “little,” but he’s actually listed as the same height and weight as Julio. (shrug)

    (sigh) Too bad, Manny…

Am I the only one that loves dirty uniforms??? LOL

Sorry, saw JD standing there all dusted up….brain wandered…. Forgive me. :)

  38. 2008 April 23 at 8:13 pm

As a freshman in college Dustin was listed at 5′6″. That’s quite believable. (I believe he’s a sophomore in that photo, though, presuming it was taken in ‘03, which is when I think it was taken.)

  39. 2008 April 23 at 8:14 pm

ecl, no slight to Julio, but if what you say is true, may I politely suggest that the distribution of said weight is more harmonious and pleasing on Jacoby.

  40. 2008 April 23 at 8:14 pm

Bethie – no, you’re not. I have a thing for middle infielders (see Lowrie, Jed when he’s not learning how to be a third baseman), and one of my favorite things about them is how they always manage to get their uniforms dirty by the end of the first inning. They’re just good at it!

Whoops! Sorry, error again. Jacoby is listed at 185, Lugo at 175. I still say Jacoby isn’t “little.”

I just love the fact that people seem to keep motivating the wee one by saying, “Oh there’s no way he can do that”. And he just comes out and says “watch me!”

And I never would have figured Ellsbury as being small, seems to me he’s got some height on Lugo too…but what do I know. :)

  43. 2008 April 23 at 8:15 pm

That’s one thing I used to love about David Justice when I was younger. He could be safe by a mile and still slide into the bag. Come away all dirty. It was almost like he was sliding cause he enjoyed it. LOL

    Hi all,
It’s a lovely night for baseball.

Oh, good play by Lowrie and Pedroia. Good, but no DP. Ah, but Lugo turns one! Yea.

LOL, fc. Yeah, I know…I just have that soft spot, ya know? He actually DID gain some weight (was WAY below listed last season after the GI bug) and I think it suits him. But Jacoby looks terrific, there’s no doubt about that whatsoever!
