NICE. Jacoby’s just that amazingly epic.
And Jacoby with a triple? Holy shit! This is turning into a slugfest! :-)
DUSTIN!
I think they just hit for the cycle!
DUSTIN IS AMAZING.
How amazing to be living on such a history rich land?! I imagine it must feel kinda like I feel when I spend time in Boston.
The Pac-10 is winning this game almost entirely by itself.
Also…because this is kind of awesome:
2003 Pac-10 Player of the Year: Dustin Pedroia
2004 Pac-10 Player of the Year: Jed Lowrie
2005 Pac-10 Player of the Year: Jacoby Ellsbury
I’m not lying.
How amazing to be living on such a history rich land?! I imagine it must feel kinda like I feel when I spend time in Boston.
Steph, I personally don’t have a whalebone corset. It’s somewhere in the family archives. I think my sister probably has it, unless my mom, in her decluttering zeal, did something stupid. It would never fit ANY of us. We’re not big people…mostly around 5′5″ and 110s to 120s, but Grandma was TINY. That old Victorian whalebone is probably a size 2.
I keep forgetting I have a fantasy baseball team. That’s not so good.
For any one that missed Papi’s grand slam and the cold shoulder/dugout attack, just go to http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/gameday/index.jsp?gid=2008_04_18_texmlb_bosmlb_1&mode=gameday. Click on “Scoring Plays” then click on “3″ (for third inning). There is a video available.
And yes, we are kicking some ass =]
Oh, it’s so cool. Except that there’s nothing here besides the battlefield. The tourists are…entertaining, but in the winter the place kind of dies.
I love Pennsylvania in general, though. I spend a lot of time in Lancaster County (I hang with the Amish!) – my family generally goes once a year or so.
Oh my freakin’ GOD! What did I just miss? And now Manuelito is up!
Looks like maybe Youk’s been schoolin’ Papi on the dramatic reactions. =D
Thanks, Red Sox
They’ve hit for the cycle in the last 5 batters, and it was almost in order – a double for Tek, single for Casey, Jed’s sac fly, a triple for Ellsbury and Pedroia’s HR. That’s kinda cool.
YAAAAAYYYYY!!! Pleats!!!!
HOLY BISCUITS, BABYSOX FTW! (!!!) coby’s triple was epic, and i have been WAITING for pedey’s first HR. eee. I LOVE THIS TEAM.
And that is exactly why I have a tag on my LJ that reads ‘Pac-10 kids haul ass at baseball.’ It’s the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me God.
18 – Anybody we should be looking for soon from the Pac10?
dice-KKKK!
(thinks) Well, everyone knows we have Chris Carter (Stanford) in Pawtucket right now…I know quite a few AAA Stanford kids, at least (Sam Fuld and Donny Lucy, for two). And the Tigers have a prospect named Jeff Larish (ASU)…
Eddie Kunz (Oregon State) is a few years off, but he’ll probably become the Mets’ new closer after Wagner’s done in a couple of years. I’m looking forward to him, too…
Steph, you know what’s so funny? Back when I was still watching a lot of college basketball, the Pac-10 was a huge force. They’re still considered one of the BIG conferences, but I had no idea they rocked in baseball as well.
I didn’t know Carter was from Stanford too, that’s exciting! So much smart in the Sox system.
Chris Carter has a degree in human biology from Stanford – and it took him only 3 1/4 years to get it. He’s awesome like that.
UCLA is still great as far as basketball goes. But ASU is an unstoppable baseball force right now – actually, every school in the Pac-10 playing baseball currently has a winning record (combining conference and non-conference play).
The University of Oregon doesn’t get its baseball team back until 2009, so there are only nine schools right now playing baseball, but…yeah.
nice and clean, 6-3, mr lowrie. eee. you can stay. ;D
JED HAS TO STAY FOREVER.
Okay, I’ll stop being all loserish now.
Steph, it was UCLA that I used to follow, mid to late 90s. Matter of fact, it was on a kinda-sorta-fangirl forum that I first came up with “ecl,” aka East Coast Lady, because I was the only person on there who wasn’t out West.
The hecklers in the triangle amuse me to no end.
Did U of O get in some sort of trouble?
LOL about “Jed has to stay forever.” Will he be the next Pesky?
Darn, that sounded like it was gone!
I was a little surprised when UCLA lost to Memphis this year, actually. I at least thought they’d make the title game. (I wasn’t surprised when Kevin Love entered the draft, though…)
I had UCLA winning the whole thing this year
Hey, Pesky’s from Oregon! He can!
I’m not exactly sure why the program was discontinued, but it was some time ago…It just says it was downgrated to a club sport in ‘81, and I’m not sure why…I’m excited for the program’s return.
I pull for the Heels first and foremost, and was hoping to see them and UCLA meet in the title game. Weird how it ended up being their opponents instead. But between the Heels and little old Davidson…the state of NC had plenty to buzz about during the tournament. I literally cried when Davidson lost at the buzzer.
I have a family friend at Davidson! I was pulling for them so badly
(and even more once Stanford was eliminated by Texas). I would’ve loved to see them win it all, even though I knew it was somewhat unlikely…Also, crazy Japanese high school baseball story.
That’s quite a bizarre Japanese baseball story, yeah!
It would have been nice to at least see Davidson make it to the Final Four.
oh, dice-KKKK. you gotta get deeper into games, love. still, good effort! HEARTS. go hit the showers. ;D ;D ;D
Oooops. This is what happens when I don’t even have audio. I lose track of the game. Bah.
steph, d.o. and remy are gushing about our awesome farm system; i wish you were watching. you’d be interrupting them with more info at every turn. ;D
…I need NESN so badly, don’t I? (has decided to move to New England after college)
Jed’s been kicking ass and taking names, hasn’t he?
jed = made of wiiiiin.
he is totally making the most of this cup of coffee.
Hey, he’s from the Pacific Northwest, so it only follows that he would like coffee. (I’ll stop making bad Starbucks jokes now.)
ANOTHER HIT FOR LOWRIE. god … LOVE LOVE LOVE.
HA! 2-2! FUCKING A, JED!
He’s making quite a name for himself.
ecl, you can listen here
Late comment as I inhale dinner (finally): Way to go, Jed!
(has not stopped grinning stupidly yet)
nj, BLESS YOU!!!
