I really, really wish they’d let the Bruins, Celtics, Pats and old Sox guys stay in those folding chairs on the field the whole game.

Beckett – don’t wallop Lester on the head so hard. You might injure him.

Here’s all the music from the Pro Jo SoxBlog:

The rings for the Manager and the Coaches were given out as the Boston Pops played the Main Theme to the Magnificent Seven, originally composed by Elmer Bernstein, chosen to collectively represent Manager Terry Francona and his team of six coaches.

When the Saints Go Marching In was played during the distribution of rings for the Trainers and Clubhouse Staff.

The Main Theme to Superman, composed by John Williams, was performed by the Boston Pops when Captain and Catcher Jason Varitek, Catcher Kevin Cash and former Catcher Doug Mirabelli received their rings to represent Varitek

Your welcome and in case your wondering about Buckner’s music:

Buckner walked out to the Closing Credits theme from the movie Glory, composed by James Horner. The movie is based on the history of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Regiment during the American Civil War and was one of the first formal units of the U.S. Army to be made up entirely of African American soldiers.

I’m sitting here in North Carolina reading these comments and so, so, SO wishing I could have seen the ceremony on TV, and the game too, of course. I’m so jealous. The comment about the different theme songs had me teared up. The video link won’t come up on my office server so I’ll check it at home tonight. I can’t wait for the nationally televised games this coming weekend so I can see my guys again!

Billy got cheered – loudly and for a long time. He also teared up a tad on the mound.
