vs. New York Yankees 7:05 pm Fenway Park – Boston, MA SP: Clay Buchholz vs. Chien-Ming Wang tv/radio: NESN – MLB.TV – WRKO |
This is your only chance to watch the Sox take on the Yanks this weekend without having to endure Tim McCarver or Joe Morgan. Enjoy it while it lasts. Anyone else hoping for a repeat appearance from the hawk?
Use the comments to this entry as your own personal Gameday open thread. These open threads have been fun so far – so I’ll keep ‘em up as long as y’all are interested in having them.

Which tribes were represented in the pregame??? How did I miss Native American night at Fenway? Were they Eastern tribes? I’ll check the press pass on the site for more info. Wow.
Go Stickbug!
Sorry! I’m having some computer issues here. Apologies for the multiple posts, past and future.
SHIT! Devern Hansack hurt his leg and was pulled from the PawSox game! Edgar Martinez in to cover…
yer mohawk is merely a runway upon which air farnsworth will land punches
Oh well, no updated Press Pass today. :
Wow. The Yankee’s announcers JUST realized that the Coke bottles weren’t there.
Dumb Announcer #1: “Uhh, where’d the Coke go?”
Dumb Announcer #2: “Uhm…What?”
Dumb Announcer #1 “Where’d the Coke bottles go?”
Dumb Announcer #2: “Umm, Uhh… They dissapeared.”
This is why I hate YES Network
I’ll never forget when Tim McCarver went off on a rant last year about the blackout of Fenway’s CF seats during a day game. To quote myself:
I cannot stand watching YES.
Then again, I have put it on multiple times to watch the Yankees lose. That’s always fun.
aluminum bats.
I’m back…although I need to fix supper “right quick” (Southernism alert).
Great news: I found a live radiocast on my first try! So I don’t have to be totally tied to Gameday all evening (good thing…my eyes are very tired).
And the weather forecast for the next couple of days has improved considerably. Life is goooood!
I’ll be back shortly to enjoy the game.
Nice strikeout, Mihashi!
I think every time Clay records a strikeout, I’m going to link to/post a picture of his anime likeness. In this one, Mihashi/Buchholz is on the left.
I love quick innings.
See, I love college ball, too. I love the “PING!” as well as the “CRACK!”
Oh, college baseball…such love.
Eeep, that reminds me! (gets the Oregon State-Stanford game up) Jacoby vs. Jed in about eight minutes!
Yaaaaay! It’s only 5-3 in Pawtucket now! Dusty Brown hit a three-run homer! And it’s only the top of the second!
stickbug’s curve has got me making some exceedinly dirty noises here. my roommate just came in to investigate. ;D
I would legally marry Clay’s curve if I didn’t already want to legally marry Dusty Brown’s throwing arm.
Well, it has already become apparent that I have one heck of a radio delay going on here.
According to Jerry, you can marry a picture.
The new Mohegan Sun commercial disturbs me. That song is gonna stick in my head forever.
PINK HAT! NO!
I missed Cano’s AB – how’d he get out?
That curve is SICK tonight. A perfect 12-to-6.
“on the ground to pedroia …”
why is that so hot to me? ;D
CLAY! god, he looks amazing so far tonight. ::all kinds of wood knocks::
Hmmm. Mihashi’s looking stellar tonight!
Sorry, everyone–my computer flipped out on me and I had to shut it down. I’m back now.
Clay is looking BRILLIANT tonight. His curveball is vicious.
hah!
dusty shaved! little boy look is back (i kinda like the scruff myself).
DUSTIN! A HIT!!!! wh00000t!
FUCK.
Oh, Papi. You need to start doing things other than grounding into DPs and striking out.
YES! Nice!
You have Clay’s vocal support from the bench, Dustin!
(I needed an excuse to post that picture. It cracked me up.)
GIDP. BOO!
no no no, not the dreaded GIDP …
oh, papi. D: D: D:
…radio delay. Ugh.
Jenny, I like the scruff, too!
I take the full blame for the GIDP. When Papi got up there, I thought to myself, “Papi, whatever you do, don’t GIDP.” And that was all he wrote. :-(
oh man, they took away dustin’s hit. SADFACE. (on the bright side: E5-ROD.)
E-Rod!
That was SO a freakin’ hit.
-spits in A-Rod’s general direction-
Oregon State vs. Stanford, if anyone cares. (WARNING: DO NOT open this in Firefox. It’ll get screwed up. Only use IE.)
…-spits in Matsui’s general direction-
C’mon, Clay. Strikes.
I’m ready for some Yankee hanky-panky tonight. C’mon Clay!
Hiya, Lifelong! waving…
Clay please cut the crap rght now.
come onnn, Clay.
Clay’s posture on the mound seems really similar to Beckett’s. Just the way he stands straight but sort of slumps his shoulders, then BAM to the plate… of course, in a SCRAPPY-Eckstein way, he’s WIRY.
That pitch was BEAUTIFUL. Wow.
Tek, get out there and talk to him right now. Make this work, guys.
NO.
MORE.
WALKS.
It’s not like we wouldn’t do so anyway, but we have to be extra careful not to let A-Rod homer this series. He’s at HR #520, and Ted Williams finished with 521 HRs. I really don’t want to see A-Rod beat that, but since it’s inevitable, I especially don’t want him to do it here.
Okay Clay, that’s a good start…
Blehhhhhh.
C’mon, Clay. Strikes. Seriously.
NOOOOOO!
