vs. New York Yankees 7:05 pm Fenway Park – Boston, MA SP: Clay Buchholz vs. Chien-Ming Wang tv/radio: NESN – MLB.TV – WRKO |
This is your only chance to watch the Sox take on the Yanks this weekend without having to endure Tim McCarver or Joe Morgan. Enjoy it while it lasts. Anyone else hoping for a repeat appearance from the hawk?
Use the comments to this entry as your own personal Gameday open thread. These open threads have been fun so far – so I’ll keep ‘em up as long as y’all are interested in having them.

YESSSSSSSS!
He did something that Mihashi does – EXACTLY the same way. When he needed to calm down, he looked at A-Rod. In Oofuri, they do some relaxation training, and the trigger for them to relax is a runner on third – so in order to relax in stressful situations, they look at the third base runner.
Clay looking at A-Rod and firing a strike immediately after, therefore, made me laugh. Hard.
Testing strike tagYES! Pawtucket is only down by one! It’s 6-5 with Dr. McDreamy on first and Sunbeam at the plate! Bobby Kielty hit a 2-run homer!
…okay, Sunbeam isn’t up anymore. It’s Ginter. But they’re hanging in there!
YEAH Kielty :D
And TG, what’s the strike tag? It’s (s)blah(/s), right? (but not parentheses, obviously)
strikethrough works fine, Liza – what form were you trying to use? “del” is the HTML 4.01 standard and XHTML 1.0 Strict DTD – but “strike” also works.
Ah – that’s the problem. “s” is an outdated markup, so it’s not in movable type’s list by default – but I’ll add it to the list so it works here anyway!
Oh. I’ve always seen it (s)blah(/s). So it’s (del)blah(/del) or (strike)blah(/strike)?
Nuuuu! Keith Ginter doubled, but Dr. McDreamy was thrown out at home trying to tie the game! Damnit, Chris!
(I refer to Chris as ‘Dr. McDreamy’ because he has a degree in human biology and the fangirls like him.)
You guys make me look so computer illiterate!
Oh, okay–thanks!
ADMIRAL TIMLIN HAS ENTERED THE GAME!
Technically, “s” and “strike” are both outdated – “del” is the correct form. But I still use “strike” because I’m weird. :)

Mihashi somehow got a no decision. I am so relieved… (I think Abe is, too. I know, he doesn’t physically resemble Tek or anything, but the personality is a perfect match.)
Nice to see Timlin! He’s looked great in Pawtucket so far – I can’t wait to see what he does today!
oh no, Timmeh..
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
(he does look like he’s lost weight, though)
Thanks. I taught myself HTML a few years ago so I’m a bit out of it. >
…I shouldn’t have said Timlin looked good in Pawtucket. (kicks herself)
*SUPERFUG
This does not look good at ALL.
:[
I really shouldn’t have said anything about Pawtucket. (kicks herself again)
i believe the phrase is: “RUH ROH”
Oh, Tim…
I don’t much care about those standards – I was just trying to explain why your tag didn’t work but mine did. Didn’t want you to think it was personal. :) YOUR TAGS AREN’T GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.
Okieeee
OKAJI!
NO ROOMMATE! (blasts Okajima Oki-Doki)
Nah, I didn’t take it that way. I was just saying I have no idea why anything works. :)
MY TAGS R SAD
Does anyone know where I can find Okie’s entrance song?
iTunes!
Perhaps I should elaborate – Okajima Oki-Doki is on iTunes, and the artist is TATAMI. The album is called ‘Lovers at Fenway Park.’
1863, I’m playing it now, too!
we can totally get those two back. HOPE IS A WAY OF LIFE. ;D
Oh, Okie…
Timlin’s ERA is 54.00. Painful.
Thanks!
No problem!
…I think Portland is about to lose. Waaaah.
Okieee!
Thank goodnesss for Okaji…
…I type like a snake. *goodness
58 pitches from Wang. Darned good pitching. Very efficient.
That randomly cracked me up. Hahahahahahahaha.
Cmon, DUSTY!
Can I say how much I hate the Yankees? Mostly its Jason Giambi, Damon and A-Rod. I do like Jeter because all I hear about is that he’s a really nice guy.
Portland down to their last three outs now – but they’re coming back. It’s only 3-1 after 8.5.
(watches Donny Freaking Lucy in Charlotte)
Dammit, Papi, HITS. HITS.
Batten down the hatches – Lopez is warming up.
Argh. Donny Freaking Lucy popped out. Portland and Pawtucket still losing.
Not having a great baseball night.
(But if Tito sticks Jed in, that’ll make up for everything.)
ooh.
no fun.
As much as I’m not enjoying these game Wang is great tonight
Wang is looking unbeatable.
(get it?)
It’s like they know I’m going down to Jersey for the weekend, and they want me to have to deal with crap from my step-father. And this is the only game of the series I’ll get to watch, due to family stuff and travel. Ugh.
