Wanted: Dead or Alive

After yesterday’s, ah, ‘eventful’ outing for a certain member of the Sox roster, I don’t think anyone would be surprised to find that same certain E6-E6-E6 Sox player’s mug featured as the centerpiece on Wanted posters around New England.

So let’s instead focus on the fantastic pitching that was on display from the two leading men on the mound – Josh Beckett and Roy Halladay. Josh’s pitches had gas right out of the gate, and until he reached the point of fatigue (right around the 80 pitch mark, that supposed benchmark of a pitch count that wasn’t exactly followed), he seemed to have fine command on most of his pitches. Doc Halladay was dealing ‘em up to the Sox in typical Doc fashion, largely limiting the damage to a few solo moonshots by Ellsbury, Varitek and Drew.

NESN, always brilliant with the montage, highlighted the dream pitching duel in pregame — using (what else?) Bon Jovi. Oh yeah.

Thanks for the clip. I needed that. My day has pretty much sucked.

Great clip. I like the font they used for the names.

I think Josh had a great outing until he got tired. I’m surprised he was is as long as he was considering that was the first time he faced major league batters this year. Of course, E6 didn’t help the pitch count at all.

Are there really Wanted posters up in NE? I feel for the guy, but wow, what a game. I wonder why Tito left him in to bat in the 9th.

I hope the guys get some much needed rest today. Tomorrow is a new day. (and a great one, at that–will work from home ;-)

Thank you for this! I missed yesterday’s pregame show and was seething when I heard I’d missed a montage! You rock!

Roy Halladay’s probably my favorite non-Red Sox pitcher too. NESN should make more montages with Doc and Josh, because that’s too much awesome for just one montage.

Mouse – I totally adore Doc Halladay. He and Pedro are definitely my favorite non-Sox starters. (I also love Peavey, and Litsch, and for relievers Huston Street, and… Joba. Heh.)

Aaanyway. Thanks for getting the video online, TG–I totally love it.

Also, to a Mr. Julio Cesar Lugo:
Not to go all April-2007-Pedroia on your ass, but you better shape up quick. Jed Lowrie’s right behind ya, bud.

I have a feeling we’re going to be hearing a lot of bon jovi this season, since he’s playing the big concert at fenway.

also, NESN’s best ever montage, IMHO? A preview of a Julian Tavarez start set to “Heaven Must Be Missing An Angel” – sheer brilliance.

Oh man the Tavarez one still makes me laugh to this day. It was so….bizarre. I understand the logic(the group Tavarez) but seriously….it was just…odd.

My favorite NESN montage is the one I just mentioned and the Beckett “Paralyzer” one. That one was sweet…too bad the radio killed that song for me and I can’t really listen to it without wanting to stab things.

I feel like I should remember the Tavarez one, but I don’t. When was it from?

Beckett “Paralyzer” = win. Best montage, in my opinion, hands down. I don’t listen to the radio much, to be honest, so I just love the song. Plus, it’s completely Beckett.

Nice that NESN was able to get a good shot of Josh cussing during that, because we all know that it isn’t a Josh montage until he’s seen dropping an f-bomb or yelling “goddammit!”

“Paralyzer” is win, but my personal favorite was the Josh montage set to AC/DC’s “It’s A Long Way To The Top,” my favorite song from them. That was HOT.

anyone know where I can see those old montages of Josh Beckett? I would so love to see them.

Try doing a search for “Josh Beckett” on this very website or clicking Josh Beckett at the end of this entry. I’ve posted all those videos before.
