My coping mechanism is usually to rationalize it using my medical knowledge, so here goes.

Genetic predisposition is entirely possible, as are environmental factors. Lymphoma is one disease, however, that they have not tracked on any genomes, and from an epidemiological standpoint it doesn’t appear genetically linked. That being said… it is, you know, genetics, so there’s much to be known.

Environmental factors is actually a reasonable guess. I grew up near Woburn, MA where the case featured in “A Civil Action” happened, so chemical exposures are always way up there in my list of possible causes. Public health is extremely concerned about the ubiquity of potentially dangerous pollutants in the water and air, but since we don’t know about them, they aren’t tracked or regulated. Lymphatic cancer is one type that does result from environmental exposures… sadly, if there is a contributory cause, this is what I would put my money on.

Of course, it could be just… coincidence. Which is the hardest type of situation to accept.

In any case, this is so sad, and I especially feel for Mama Lester (I think her name is Kathy?). How difficult for her.

I am glad we play the Mariners next– he gets to be near home for a few days.

To the entire Lester clan, my heart goes out to you.

This is unbelievable. I’m just shocked.

I find it difficult to believe that this is coincidence. Genetic predisposition? Environmental factors?

I desperately hope that Jon’s dad does as well as Jon says.
But as tough as their ordeals are, how cool is it that the son can serve as inspiration for the father?

I hate cancer. I lost my grandma to lung cancer on Wednesday.

My prayers are with the Lester family that John Lester beats this thing.

When Steve told me about this earlier, I was just shocked as hell to hear it.

As far as the videos are concerned, people have told me the same thing. One thing to do is clear out everything in your browser cache and cookies. Then reset your browser and then try to watch the video again.

You probably need to email UnCut Video. It’s either a browser problem or maybe a flash problem on your computer. I know the videos play for me fine on Mac and Windows, on Firefox, Safari and IE… maybe try clearing your cache?

how come i cant watch the videos anymore?? The ones that say UnCut for some reason will not work. do i need something downloaded? youtube isnt a problem for me. Someone wanna give me a clue?
