Moss was released this morning and back at his apartment where he will stay for 10 days before heading to Ft. Myers to get back into baseball shape.
He should be out about 3-5 weeks.

Should we play the ‘how do the Sox fill in the outfield’ game? I’ve heard rumors about picking up recently DFA’d Wilkerson, but Chris Carter isn’t a bad option, either…

My guess is this that Thurston gets called back up after the game and will come off the DL when Cora comes off on Saturday
Wait, i may sound stupid, but indefinately means unclear, correct? so are they saying that they arent sure if he will ever come back? or they’re not sure when he will be coming back?

Lindsay, I think it means they don’t know WHEN he’s coming back, and they want to give him as much time as he needs. I don’t think an appendectomy is a career-ending injury.

Nothing like Mother Nature’s carwash! And the entire state of NC will gladly trade with you guys. We’ve been in an “extreme drought” for many months. Of course, we could do without daytime temps in the 40s at this time of year.

To clarify: I thought indefinitely was a poor word to use, as Ian has noted, they’re saying 3-5 weeks is the expected time Moss is away from the game.
I don’t like basketball but that sounds hilarious. I’m going to go make my brother rewind and watch it.
That sounds about right, actually – it took me about two weeks to go back to school and about three or four before I could really be active again.

Lugo’s been having some really good at-bats lately.
Aw, man, those fouls into the on-deck circle. Bad news. I saw the one that wrecked Encarnacion’s eye (Cardinals) last season. It was painful just to watch.
He’s capable of being a patient hitter — I wish he’d do that more often.

Only good thing about that at-bat from Lugo was he made Kazmir throw 10 pitches.
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Abby. I love when hitters do that.
That was useful. Kazmir’s being limited on pitches today because it’s his first start with the big club this year.
The radio’s saying Kazmir is limited to 100 pitches, to be more specific. Lugo just got rid of over 1/10 of those pitches.
They said Kazmir can probably throw about 100 today. He threw 81 in his last rehab start.
