my favorite moment from yesterday (and beyond) so far – besides the EPIC tito/jonny hug right after the win last night – has been t.c. and eck interviewing jonny down on the field in the pregame tonight. eee. so calm, so collected, so loose about it all, the day after – unbelievably cute.

    LESTER > SANTANA. ;D

    Santana who?

  3. 2008 May 20 at 6:53 pm

My softball team lost yesterday and look what happened. We lost again today, so I’m hoping Masterson’s start is… good. ;)

Also, it’s deliciously ironic that it’s Lester who threw the no-no and Jacoby who saved it. I bet the Twins are mad right about now.

  4. 2008 May 20 at 6:59 pm

schill calls buchholz, pedroia, lester, and ellsbury the MOUNT RUSHMORE of “why the Red Sox have put themselves in a position to win, a lot, over the next decade.”

    (!!!)

    Dustin : Clay :: Jacoby : Jon

Masterson will have his work cut out for him, facing off against Meche – but I bet he and the rest of the team are jazzed up on an adrenaline high.

This is my first time seeing Masterson (I missed his first start because of Classes).

Hi all — this ought to be fun, despite my being so tired that I can hardly string a sentence together.

d.o., repeating his conversation with lester in the dugout before the game tonight:

d.o.: “did you sleep at all last night?:
    jon lester: “not a wink.”

    ME NEITHER, JONNY.

  14. 2008 May 20 at 7:12 pm

Hi everyone! I have had an absolutely horrible day and I won’t be able to watch the game. So, I’m saying Hi now before I give up and call it a night early!

    So HI!!!

    GO SOX!!

    Hi Y’all!

Texy, I re-read (again) your beautiful piece on Lester’s no-no. It’s the best I’ve read on his achievement.

I’m excited to see Masterson tonight! And Colon tomorrow night! I was *really* hoping to see Beckett Friday, but it looks like Wake is getting the start.

DO/Remy said that Lester told them he didn’t sleep a wink last night. I bet! What a night!

I need to work, I’m sooooooooooooooooo far behind on my project, it’s not even funny.

    Go Sox!

    Curt on Tek…

It’s no coincidence that he’s now caught a record 4 no-hitters, trust me. I would BET, BIG MONEY, that I’d have been the 4th if I hadn’t shaken him off…

Schill, we’d bet right along with ya…

Awww, Bethie — hugs to you. I hope the thunderstorms and tornadoes stayed away from you this time. I’m going to go to bed early too, i.e., right after the game.

…dude, Tavarez actually accepted his assignment? I never would’ve guessed in a million years!

  27. 2008 May 20 at 7:27 pm

So Tavarez is going to Pawtucket. First I’d heard of that. WRKO just mentioned it.

  28. 2008 May 20 at 7:28 pm

Steph, GMTA! Or else you’re listening to WRKO too.

  37. 2008 May 20 at 7:35 pm

Hi all. I’m a little late to the game but still riding very high from last night. Just incredible.

I’d love to see Masterson pitch for real. Instead of colored spheres from an invisible pitcher. With his Paperboy mugshot in the lefthand corner.

    Kid’s a beast, isn’t he? Like… he’s massive!

  38. 2008 May 20 at 7:36 pm
