  12. 2008 May 6 at 8:15 pm

Ok I just have to vent for a second. I’ve been at the library since 11am and I have more writing to do. I feel like I’m never going to finish. Somebody put me out of my misery…please

Gameday says something about the ball being deflected by Brandon Inge. Did something weird happen or is that Gameday saying something strange?

    Di–

Hey, we’ve all been there at some point (ok, at least I have, multiple times).

Just a few deep breaths… get up, walk around for a while, go outside… then come back. Clear your head. Promise it will help.

    You CAN get it done.

  15. 2008 May 6 at 8:18 pm

I think I will take a quick walk. Be back in a few.

Hey Lindsay- I think I know what that article about the little boy’s record or whatever. The boy holds the record for wearing the same shirt the most days in a row, but that other guy (that wore a shirt for 77 hours) was without taking it off or washing it. Obviously the kid washed his shirt…

Mike Lowell has an iPod in his locker place and it looks EXACTLY like mine. The case and how we wrap the headphones around and stuff. The weird thing is that I can’t find my iPod anywhere.

  17. 2008 May 6 at 8:22 pm

    atta boy waKKKKey!

  18. 2008 May 6 at 8:23 pm

So choco, is there something you neglected to tell us? ;-)

    WaKKKKey!

  19. 2008 May 6 at 8:23 pm

abby – inge timed his jump weird (he didn’t really need to jump) and the ball glanced off his glove.

    CASH MONEY, BABY.

fc doesn’t like it but she’s pretty much not as cool as I am. :)

cashie 3-for-3! ATTA BOY. making the most of his opportunities. ;D

  23. 2008 May 6 at 8:27 pm

ecl- if I told you, I’d have to kill you.

(by the way- that was a joke and NOT a death threat or anything. last time I made a joke about someone dying I got suspended for 2 days…)

    LET IT BE KNOWN:

I have more cajones than A-Rod. Officially.

  26. 2008 May 6 at 8:30 pm

thanks for the positive thoughts. I need them. I’m just burned out and I still have 1 more year of undergrad and at least 3 years of law school.

  27. 2008 May 6 at 8:31 pm

LOL, choco — don’t worry, I know that phrase! Mmmmm, don’t even get me started on the death of free speech. You missed going to school in the good old days. Nobody would have batted an eyelash over that.

mhc — you beat me to it on the A-Rod story. Hilarious!

“I know you are going to go do some abs after. And do you mind if I join you?”

Wow, A-Rod is smooth. Charmer he is.

Di, if it makes you feel better, I’m all cheerful tonight, but I also have to face the fact that I have years of post-bac sciences + med school (hopefully) + residency.

Just remember that by being in college and heading to grad school you are already several steps ahead of the curve. You’re doing fine just as you are.

  30. 2008 May 6 at 8:32 pm

    What? Dissing me? Harumph.
But dissing A-Rod? Always a good time.

  31. 2008 May 6 at 8:33 pm

“I wasn’t aware that you could have an entire livelihood off of a sport.”

Ok even my mom, who knows NOTHING about sports knew that.

  32. 2008 May 6 at 8:33 pm

So mhc, do you know what kind of residency you want to do?

If you think undergrad is bad, law school is even worse. I have nightmares that I’m back in law school and am about to graduate but I haven’t written that last huge paper yet.

  35. 2008 May 6 at 8:34 pm

thanks mhc. My bro is going to med school and I know he has a longer road ahead of him than I do. I just need to relax a bit. I was getting overwhelmed.

  36. 2008 May 6 at 8:35 pm

I could have sworn that the WRKO guys just told a story about Pudge Rodriguez having a statue of himself at his mansion in Miami. WTF?

I’m looking at a couple years of post-bac sciences and then 3 years of physical therapy grad school, but to tell you the truth, I’m looking forward to it. The job I have now, where I stare at the computer all day, is driving me nuts.

    I know I’m weird.

  38. 2008 May 6 at 8:35 pm

ellen, what aspect of law did you end with?

  39. 2008 May 6 at 8:35 pm

    Di…just remember to b-r-e-a-t-h-e.

Well, first I’d like to get into medical school.

But in an ideal world I’m actually interested in hospital medicine– maybe geriatrics if I’m feeling like a little more time in fellowship. But as it is, hospitalist for me. It’s who I work for right now, all my mentors are hospitalists and I love the systems and quality research that they do. Teaching too, lots of patient care, INCREDIBLY high demand.

From time to time I ponder anesthesiology too. I’m leaving my mind open at this point.

School was great, I got my LLM in taxation and decided law is not for me. Now I’m a beadmaker.

School was hard, but totally worth it.

Sometimes I feel like the Yanks pushed them so hard because they wanted to be like WE HAVE FUTURE ACES TOO! when in fact their prospects are damn good, but ours are brilliant right now.

  47. 2008 May 6 at 8:39 pm

lol, well at least you can say you went thru law school and actually finished. My plan is to go into entertainment law. Dream job: working for the Red Sox and drawing up the contracts for the players. A girl can dream right?
