I was talking about A-Rod by the way.
Where’s TG tonight? She’s missing my party!
Someone save one of the e-cupcakes for her.
I’ll even save her a balloon
I was wondering. :D
My first baseball boyfriend was the original Pudge – Carlton Fisk.
mhc: Hospitalist = good choice. Our residents (family medicine) do a lot of rotations with them. I like geriatrics even better. There will be a huge demand for them as time goes on. And a fellowship in it is only a year, at least where I work. All I know about anesthesiology is that it pays extremely well.
Ellen: You’re not alone — I have a masters in vocal music education and now enter stuff into the medical records at a residency program.
ok the statue of pudge is creepy
Hi, I love this blog and I don’t normally post during games, but this has been bugging me. Has anyone else noticed that it looks like Dustin Pedroia went all Kevin Youkilis and shaved his head? It really looks like he did and my roommate and I have been trying to figure it out. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Maybe I am just crazy.
PAPIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!! I LOVE MY PLUS-SIZED PATERNAL UNIT!
BIG PAPI! FTW!
YEAH! That one sounded beautiful!
what did he do? what did he do?
Lori, the Globe this morning had a little item about him shaving his head “because he was bored.”
Lori–
fc actually JUST im’d me about that… he always does it during the season because, um, he’s balding. Keeps it close. Gets fuzzy as time goes on.
ecl you’re in NC, right? My little sis did her res at Duke. Is that where you are?
YAY PAPI
ok Manny it’s your turn
Di Papi hit a HR!
Pudge = strange dude. When he was in his prime I did enjoy watching him catch, though.
497!
Thanks for clearing that up. I guess I just never noticed his head shaved before. My roommate is in love with Pedroia, so I have been watching him more closely now. As for me, I am a Lowell gal.
HOME RUN MANNY!! FINALLY!!!
497 497 497
MANNY! GONE! BACK-TO-BACK!
MANNY!!!!
(jinx lifted, I guess)
PAPI…MANNY….thats our boys!
I LOVE YOU MANNY! YEAH!!!
Ahh, that was great!
I lurved him when I was 15.
finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
he just needed a little positive reinforcement
lori – your roommate has good taste. ;D (pedroia is my favorite, too!)
if anyone is, like me, a fan of the GREAT GREEN BUTT-KICKING MACHINE currently EATING THE NBA ALIVE…
Celts ahead coming out of the 1st quarter, 25-15!
Ellen – I’m way out west in Asheville. I work for a residency program that is affiliated with UNC Chapel Hill, but we draw residents from all over the country. I’m in the family med division, but we also have ob/gyn and dental, as well as fellowships in geriatrics and sports medicine, and plans are currently in the works to have a rural track branch of the UNC-CH School of Medicine for 3rd and 4th year students.
It is SO GOOD to see Wake doing such a great job. I was a little worried after his last start.
Cool! I’ve heard great things about Asheville and how artsy it is. My sis is a hem/onc and went to duke and did her res there and now she’s at dana farber.
ecl1958–
I’m in the Division of General Medicine myself–subgroup of Gen Med and Primary Care. So hey there neighbor!
Not in North Carolina though.
Where in Dana Farber? I’m at the Brigham!
fudge.
Hey everyone! I just finished an extremely stressful assignment and I am in a positively splendid mood. No sarcasm.
Oh, Pleats…
Fudge? I don’t know that part of DF. Sounds like a good treatment though.
Awww, Pleats…
Ellen: AVL is artsy, but in many ways it’s a mixed bag. It’s a “blue” island in a red area, and the locals have a lot of issues with the newcomers, and there’s a HUGE amount of development that is a) crowding the infrastructure and b) ruining the lovely scenery.
mh, MPH she’s in the dept of hematologic oncology.
here
sorry for the long link.
man, this isn’t dusty’s night
D: D: D:
mch: I’m losing track — what did you specialize in prior to your MPH? Are you currently working in general/primary? I’d say that’s the best path to hospitalist!
Ellen: Hem/onc = angels walking among us. I have so much respect for them.
come on Cashewwwwwww
Those heme-onc MDs are INSANELY smart. I spent a day with a few of them on their stem cell/bone marrow transplant patients on the wards. Amazing people, really amazing.
HUGE props to your sis. Fist bump.
I don’t know how they can do it. Honestly.
I hope Mikey has a book signing. That would be amazing!
Have any of you ever met any of the Sox?
aww that little boy on NESN is so cute!
I met Millar when he was still with the team
lindsey – i believe mikey has a signing at the b&n at the pru; not sure when, tho
