The lights went dark on Elm Street today, when it was announced that the Red Sox DFA’ed Julian Tavarez to make room for Sean Casey on the roster. That gives the Sox 10 days to trade him or place him on waivers — and given the interest the Rox have expressed recently, he could well be headed to the Mile High City. Farewell, Julian the Jukin’ Jackrabbit.
My only question is: what are the Red Sox trainers supposed to do with these extra pieces of Tavarez-specific equipment?
Of course, we’ll always have the memories…

I’ve never been a fan of Tavarez, but I wish him well. As long as he’s not playing *against* us.
To add to Meghan’s point, who is going to teach them how to bowl the baseball to first base??
