I’m posting this just to get it out of the way up top: I heart the Phillies. I heart the players. I can, and will, squee for and about them. But I still want the Sox to win.

Also, just ’cause I heart them doesn’t mean you can’t trash talk them. As long as you don’t talk shit about Pat Burrell’s magnificent ass.

I can’t say I am or am not a fan of the Phillies. I honestly don’t know anything about them.
I noticed Youklis is out of the lineup with back spasms. Maybe he should try some yoga or something relaxing. The stress and getting upset all the time, might be taking a toll on his body. Don’t get me wrong I am not saying he should lose his passion, just chill a little.

Hey there. Getting ready to head for the TV in the next room. TG, Pat Burrell does have a great butt, based on the pic over on “Ladies” last year. I can’t wait to actually SEE it! I haven’t gotten to watch much of the Phillies and am looking forward to it. Karen, right on about Youk. Anger management classes, perhaps?

Okay…will check in during commercials and such. Go Sox!

  4. 2008 June 16 at 7:00 pm

Maybe he should have some Savignyoouuk Blanc. Let’s just say I’m very relaxed right now.

And btw I have always found anger management classes INFURIATING. Hmmm…

    Oops, I’m anonymous.

HAH! fc…Was it someone here who said it was horrible and they spit it out?

The Phils have a lot of great characters as well – it makes them easy to love.

I think I’ll be drinking Jameson in honor of both teams tonight.

TG-Who was it on the Phillies that pulled a prank on one of the younger players by saying he was being traded to Japan?

Brett Myers. Who is a douche. But that was fantastic. It was Kyle Kendrick- the guy who’ll be pitching on Wednesday.

That joke was horrible–I felt so bad for Kendrick. It was funny, but jeez. Can’t you just say he was traded to Seattle or something?

  15. 2008 June 16 at 7:10 pm

I am by no means any kind of wine connoisseur. All I can tell you is that it’s goin down real easy and getting the job done.

Watching him try to keep up a happy face while all the reporters interviewed in front of his locker? Awkwardly hilarious.

Not bad at all. I’m not drinking anything away, just enjoying.

Anyone see him on Red Sox This Week last night?

    Hmmm…Hamels sure does have a pretty change-up.

He was drafted #1 by the Phils (#2 overall in the draft), despite the fact he and Boras told everyone they wouldn’t sign for less than a buttload of money ($10MM I think). Phils drafted him anyway… and then wouldn’t pay him that, so he didn’t sign. Next year, he got drafted again by the Cards and signed with them.

Hamels’s changeup is pretty. I’m a sucker for good off-speed pitches with tons of movement. (Clay Buchholz, anyone?)

I haven’t watched the Phillies play since Kevin pitched for them, and that seems like eons ago. I’m looking forward to the next 3 games.

I am not, however, looking forward to home runs like THAT!

Okay Bartolo. If your gonna give up home runs then you owe us base running tonight. And I mean it.

    Here comes Utley. **covers eyes**

  34. 2008 June 16 at 7:19 pm

Well we found our bats over the weekend. Let’s hope they made the trip to Philly.

Bethie, I’d prefer him to go deep than have to do any real running. Wang screwed himself on the basepaths yesterday for the Yanks and is out for 6+ weeks.

You bring up a good point Liza. We can’t afford any more pitchers on the DL. But no more homers and NO MORE WALKS!!!!

I think the Phils’ belts are defective. Two years ago, Pat’s belt came undone and his pants halfway fell off when he dove for a ball in the Wrigley outfield. Since I was front row in the bleachers in LF right in front of him, I didn’t complain.
