    Hello all!

    Rain, rain go away!

  3. 2008 June 4 at 6:47 pm

This is a cool little feature on the farm system. The players are so adorable!

  4. 2008 June 4 at 6:49 pm

Bethie, is it still raining up there? And are YOU still up there? It hit 90 here today!

  5. 2008 June 4 at 6:51 pm

Nope, I’m home. And it’s HOT!!! I almost cried when getting out of the car this morning. I so didn’t want to come home!

My friend is back at the ballpark tonight, and she said it is drizzling, but they are still going at 7:05. Let’s just hope it stays a drizzle.

  6. 2008 June 4 at 6:53 pm

The forecast is calling for no more than drizzle. I’m SURE you didn’t want to come home. Can’t wait to hear all about it…

Will be mostly hanging out by the TV tonight. Finishing putting dinner together. Will check back after awhile. Go Becks and all the rest of the guys!

  7. 2008 June 4 at 6:54 pm

ecl, I’ve posted my first round of pictures, so go check them out if you want.

  8. 2008 June 4 at 6:55 pm

Great! Will check later. Dinner’s up, and so is the broadcast, in about 5 minute! :-)

  9. 2008 June 4 at 6:57 pm

Bethie, sorry to be so rushed. Life is a madhouse right now, as I’ll explain when I have time to post in my journal.

Hey all–will be watching the game (and game 6 of Wings/Pens) but have some stuff to do so won’t be posting tonight. So:

    HELLOOOOO JOSH

    PIZZAAAAAA

    F*** KEVIN YOUKILIS

There, I think that about covers it. See you next Josh start!

  11. 2008 June 4 at 6:57 pm

It poured most of the day up here, but it’s stopped now. The cloud cover hasn’t let up at all and it’s still gray, though.

  12. 2008 June 4 at 7:02 pm

Is the temperature reasonable, at least, Liza?

  13. 2008 June 4 at 7:03 pm

Today was disgusting. Cold and rainy. It’s in the 50’s and raw.

  14. 2008 June 4 at 7:05 pm

Yesterday was hot, today’s a lot cooler. Pretty gross.

Is hating her house’s lack of HD TV at the moment…. and the boring Ray’s announcers….

Thank God for Commmander Kickass to save my day!

  16. 2008 June 4 at 7:06 pm

Ellen, at this point I’d trade with you. 90 and humid is more than I can handle, especially this early in the season. When it’s in the 50s one can layer up. In the 90s…one suffers.

  17. 2008 June 4 at 7:08 pm

Jeez. It really is foggy at Fenway.

JUSTIN AND CHRIS. AWW. Whoa, Chris smiling!

  18. 2008 June 4 at 7:08 pm

ecl, I agree with you totally. I’ll take 50’s over 90’s any day.

The broadcast is showing the mist falling at Fenway. brr.

  19. 2008 June 4 at 7:09 pm

Is JD going for a gold glove or what?

  20. 2008 June 4 at 7:10 pm

He has made some awesome catches recently.

  21. 2008 June 4 at 7:16 pm

    Helloooooo?

    This isn’t looking good.

Beckett “Just throw a fucking strike!” ;)

  23. 2008 June 4 at 7:18 pm

    Phew. Good.

  24. 2008 June 4 at 7:18 pm

I think Beckett just likes to play with us for an inning. Hopefully he’ll pull it together in the 2nd.

  25. 2008 June 4 at 7:18 pm

    Now it is! :D

  26. 2008 June 4 at 7:19 pm

Josh needs to quit scaring us like that. And JD is continuing to impress.

    Back to the TV…

  28. 2008 June 4 at 7:24 pm

Oh boy, the umps having a pow wow.

Let’s see if they screw this up.

  29. 2008 June 4 at 7:24 pm

    That was so definitely fair.

    WTF

  30. 2008 June 4 at 7:24 pm

Wow. They so need that replay. That was a HR. The fans wouldn’t have cheered for a foul. Duh.

    Well that just sucks.

  32. 2008 June 4 at 7:27 pm

Why did ESPN show only one (terrible) replay of that homer from Pedroia?

  33. 2008 June 4 at 7:29 pm

    Cause ESPN sucks. :)

NESN didn’t have but one angle, either. And it wasn’t that great.

  35. 2008 June 4 at 7:32 pm

Well, yeah. But they make such a big deal about replay and the need for it, and talk about how they have the luxury of looking at replays while the umps do not, and then they show one sh*tty angle, and that’s it.

  36. 2008 June 4 at 7:35 pm

I wonder how long it will take for MLB to institute replay for situations such as that.

  37. 2008 June 4 at 7:35 pm

I wish I could watch NESN. But I have been far away from my home for three weeks now, and therefore far away from my Extra Innings package. I’ve been dealing with crappy MLB.tv (not the greatest internet connection in my hotel), so I’m just happy to see the Sox on something bigger than my 13″ laptop screen.

  38. 2008 June 4 at 7:39 pm

For replay to even work, it all depends on how many cameras they have following the ball at one time and from how many angles they’re coming… in reality replay won’t help unless they have the correct angle to view which means more cameras, more cameramen and more money… plus cameras don’t show in 3D

personally im still on the fence about replay because even with it, they still might not have had a decisive answer for Pleat’s HR

  39. 2008 June 4 at 7:40 pm

I guess that’s true Danielle, although every controversial call this season has been easily seen with the regular television cameras.

  40. 2008 June 4 at 7:41 pm

…am I seeing things, or did Eric Hinske just steal a base?

  41. 2008 June 4 at 7:42 pm
    Jessi permalink

    Was that actually Hinske?

  42. 2008 June 4 at 7:42 pm

I guess with the exception of this one tonight, although I know I’ve seen better angles of calls near the Pesky Pole, so I don’t know where those cameras were tonight.

Hinske is 5 for 6 on SB this season

  45. 2008 June 4 at 7:43 pm

Well, color me heartily surprised. But then again, I guess the Rays as a team are stealing a lot this season…

  46. 2008 June 4 at 7:43 pm

Hey, I’m actually here for once! (Sorry I’m late – I had dinner to attend to.)

Hinske totally has Beckett’s motion, by the way. I guess that’s what sitting on the bench does for you…
