With both the Rays and Yanks winning today, the Sox really need to win this one.
Lets hope for a playoff-like performance from Beckett. Or just a win, I’m not too picky right now.

Is anyone else totally perplexed by the farnsworth / pudge trade?
The Yanks must be working on another deal for somebody to replace Fanrsworth.

On a serious note, Pudge hasn’t been happy in Detroit in a while and probably this has been in the works for a while since Posada was clearly unable to play.
Pudge is on my fantasy team.

The Pudge trade took me by surprise. You know the yanks aren’t done yet. Weird to see Tex in an Angels uni.
I think Farns was actually tearing up when they talked to him about it. It’s a little weird to me.

Jason Bay to the Sox?
I lurve Manny, but if we got Jason Bay I’d be pretty elated.
Manny to the notoriously cheap Marlins? That would be interesting.
I haven’t been paying enough attention and don’t know a lot about Jason Bay, but if Texy is happy, that’s a good sign ;-)
Can the Marlins even afford Manny?
I think with any deal, the Sox would be paying a good chuck of Manny’s salary.
I wonder who the Pirates would get – because Bay is a potential franchise player.
