I love Carlos, but Pat Burrell’s OPS and OPS+ are otherworldly this year. Lee is good, but PB is better (this year).

Creepy players who tie the greats in HRs, and the announcers gloating about it = makes ecl cry. :(

Lowell wasn’t chosen because there are already 7 Sox on the team.

It’s gotta sting the Yanks that they have 3… and the Sox have 7. And in their park. HAH.

if I have to see them get caught stealing one more time this series I think i’m going to have a heart attack.

Plus they’ll be a nice 3-7 on this roadtrip after the loss tonight! Pretty impressive

Lindsay and Ian, you have good points about Longoria. I may have to reconsider and go back and cast some more votes…

Lowell might’ve had a better chance at being selected for the online voting if Varitek wasnt on the team!

I can’t remember us ever getting CS this many times in a week. Christ.

Stop with the freaking hit-and-runs Tito.

Adam, don’t give up so soon

im getting tired of the close ups of ARod – the highlighted tips annoy the shit out of me

  19. 2008 July 6 at 8:39 pm

And now ARod will be dealing with a divorce as his wife will be filing for it tomorrow.

She’s going to be one rich woman for putting up with his shit.

A-Rod is (sadly) hands-down the best player in baseball. If there was ever an ASG without A-Rod, it would be a sham.

    He’s a weirdo, and creepy, but he is a first-ballot HOF’er and a once-in-a-generation talent.

Julio Lugo was just trying out to be the Statue of Liberty.

I am such an idiot. I missed the first 2 innings because I thought the game came on at 8:55. I’m such a dumbass.

Judging by the score, I didn’t miss much, huh?

  30. 2008 July 6 at 8:45 pm

It’s quite possible that Sabathia is only a rental for the Brewers. If that’s the case you can expect the Skanks to make a play for him in the offseason.

Not only quite possible, but probably. They don’t have the payroll he is going to demand.

true texy plus they have Ben Sheets to worry about who will be a free agent at the end of the season.

So you figure it’s either going to be C.C. or Sheets that’s going to get the money from the Brewers but not both.

  38. 2008 July 6 at 8:48 pm

TG – give me Prince Albert ANY day of the week. He may not be quite as good as A-Rod, but IMO he’s a great talent and his character is pretty spotless from what I’ve heard. I’m sorry to not see him on the ASG roster again this year.

And kudos to A-Rod’s wife for finally putting her foot down.

It has the feeling of a 1-0 loss. Or maybe 5-0

  40. 2008 July 6 at 8:48 pm

what’s great about that trade is that I fleeced one of my friends in our AL-only fantasy league. I traded Sabathia for Buchholz.

FOR THE LAST TIME, JOE MORGAN: the Santana trade not going through did not “put pressure” on Phil Hughes, et al. That trade cannot be evaluated in one season – it will take six years before the result is known.

I agree with you Danielle. I bring poland springs home when I visit. I can find it at whole foods in florida occasionally. I know it’s good Tek gets a night off, but I’m selfish I would like him 7 days a week. I don’t like when Wakey pitches.
