Papelspawn

My friends and family know I’m not one to get all googly over babies… but these pictures of the soon-to-be Daddy and Mommy Papelbon are too cute not to share. These were taken at Vitaminwater’s MLB All-Star week celebration at Hudson Terrace on July 14, 2008 in New York City.

Ashley looks positively radiant, and Jonathan looks downright proud of himself. “ME MAN. ME MAKE BABY. ME AWESOME.”

Adorable. Paps is cracking me up and I think you got it right. “ME MAN…” perfect.

    Congrats to the Papelpoppa.

The idea of Papelbon with a baby still scares me a bit. But I’m really happy for them, and they look so cute and happy, which is what really counts.

Anyone else think Ashley’s starting to feel a liiittle embarassed by him in the second pic? :D

I think she’s thinking, “If you keep drawing attention to my stomach, which is STILL VERY FLAT TYVM, I will thump you.”

TG– that’s what I thought too. “THANKS FOR FRAMING MY STOMACH, honey, can we move on now?”

She does look really cute in that outfit though. Excellent choices there, Mrs. P.

As for the Mr.– the baby and Mummy’s tummy are neither toys nor props. That out of the way, congratulations to them.

Also– do you think maybe they had planned on announcing it in a context other than Daddy going completely ape at the New York press? Because I bet they did.

Ashley looks great! Those pictures are hilarious.

Although I definitely agree with MHC on that last point.

Ashley does look great! Heck I wish I looked as good as she does…

I would so kill my hubby for framing my tummy… I can still blame it on hormones.. :)

Thanks for posting those pictures, TG. I was looking for them on Monday and was very frustrated that I couldn’t see them bigger. I guess if he couldn’t impregnant ME, it’s OK if it’s her (did I just say that out loud?). I’m available for babysitting though! Something tells me this child will be a hellion though.

Yea I think in the second pic Ashley definitely seems a little embarassed.

I just had a horrible thought: what if when the baby is born Paps becomes totally normal? I think I would cry

    Great news, great photos.

Angie, a normal Paps? That feels apocalyptic.

I am happy for them. Although the thought of him raising a child, still scares me. However, I assume with his schedule, she will be doing most of the raising.
