I just saw on ESPN that they put Joba on the DL. And the Rays won today grr

Yeah, I watched the Rays win on tv. Just turned it on for the 9th inning, was hoping to see them lose. Just finishing dinner, good timing. I guess I missed a good game last nite, got home from work right after it ended.

Joba to the DL…interesting. Guess being a starter was too much for him or something…

    So missed KC announcers.

  5. 2008 August 6 at 8:12 pm

Joba has slight tear in his rotator cuff and will take some time off before beginning a throwing program.

    Ugh, KC announcers again.

Well hey there, Ian…been awhile since I’ve seen you around. Hope you’re well.

Ian- does this mean he’ll miss the rest of the season?

So is this really the proverbial straw for the Yankees, or can they really overcome it, with Chamberlain unavailable as either a reliever or as a starter?

Aw no Pedie tonight. And I really hope Joba is out for the rest of the season

  11. 2008 August 6 at 8:18 pm

JD seems to like that leadoff spot just fine.

Well, how about that. Youk sweats a lot, according to the KC announcers.

  13. 2008 August 6 at 8:21 pm

Pete Abraham of the Journal News seems to think we won’t see Joba again this season.

I don’t see the Yankees rushing him back at all. He’s the future of that pitching staff and if he got hurt rushing him back they lose him for even longer.

    Aw, poor youk.

  20. 2008 August 6 at 8:26 pm

Youk out of the game? Disappointed kid here.
I just hope it’s not serious.

I’m sure Ian will keep us apprised of Youk’s status. Isn’t that right, Ian? :::wink:::

Ian: X-ray, MRI, and full medical records, please.

    …and a 3-pitch K by Wakey.

  25. 2008 August 6 at 8:44 pm

david murphy just took out Pudge at the plate and both are still laying down.

  27. 2008 August 6 at 8:45 pm

    Manny just hit another HR.

  28. 2008 August 6 at 8:46 pm

    Ian, really? Lying down? Ouch…

  29. 2008 August 6 at 8:48 pm

knee to knee and head to head. Murphy got up and appears to be OK. and pudge is being pinch-hit for in this inning.

  30. 2008 August 6 at 8:48 pm

my favorite with these announcers was in the first game of this series, they said “ortiz has got to be uncomfortable in his new spot in the lineup, he’s been batting cleanup behind manny for years now”

  31. 2008 August 6 at 8:50 pm

this joba thing is a cover i think… they’re just delaying announcing that he’s going to have surgery

PM, I heard that too. I was like ‘what the hell are they talking about?’

My favorite thing has been their whole discussion about our guys’ necklaces.

  33. 2008 August 6 at 8:52 pm

Ouch, Pudge. Yeah, I know, wrong team, but I enjoyed watching him catch in his prime. Tough little bulldog.

My favorite was the whole Buchholz glove thing where they said they would call it a triple just because they could.

  37. 2008 August 6 at 8:57 pm

    Xrays were negative on youk

  38. 2008 August 6 at 8:58 pm
