Watching games at work? Kind of infuriating but also kind of awesome. Sure makes the day go faster.
Does everyone have their brooms ready?
Too bad it’s a day game and I can’t be home in front of my tv, but I’ll have a window open on my computer to follow the game.
Unfortunately, I have a *huge* prototype demo tomorrow that I’m getting ready for. Of course, when I need “dummy data,” I use Sox players’ names. heeheee Gotta keep the designer (moi) amused.
A sweep would be incredibly awesome.

Agreed 1000%, Texy.
I’m totally hoping that Lester is the Yankee-killer today that he was in his last start against them. That would be true awesomeness. Don’t forget your mojo, guys!
Here! Just got cut from field hockey tryouts. *sighs*
Here. Probably the only good thing about not working, being able to watch day games.
Sorry about that, B.
Thanks. But I’m in a good mood anyway because we get to check out our new guy!
55,000 people? Well we know how many people aren’t working in NY today.
At least the gameday is pretty cool–especially on the T-1 connection.
Karen, how are you doing?
Aw, Pleats!
This is going to be a long day with those types of calls.
I’m “watching” it via radio. I always forget how talented the play-by-play radio guys are.
GAH! YOUK!
The game’s on WEEI not WRKO.
Jules, doing ok, still job hunting. I am going back to my seasonal job in October from last year, it pays low, but it’s in town, and something, but only lasts through the first week of January.
New new guy!
Kotsay! Hmm…. his number is 11, and he’s played for 11 seasons. Coincidence? I think not.
Actually wouldn’t kotsay be new new new guy. with byrd being new new guy and bay being new guy.
It’s sad I never really noticed Lester’s looks until recently, and come January 9th he will be married.
Damnit, Abreu!
Anyone who think A-Rod is a failure is an idiot. Hence, it is perfect that he’s the “face of failure” (per radio guys) of NY. What a bunch of idiots.
Come on, Jonny. You can get out of this.
It’s early, but things aren’t looking so good for Jon…
Good luck in your search, Karen.
Come on, Lester!
It’s hard to tell completely by the radio, but it sounds like Jon’s spot location is off.
Fickle, fickle NY fans….
it’s raining boos in new york again for A-Flop
Still booing him, I see.
wiffah!!!
wow Arod is not having a good series… snicker…
I hope Lester got his jitters out in that inning.
ugh. There is NO FOOD in my house!
Gameday is about 60 seconds ahead of the radio. Huh.
NGx3!
YESSSSSSSSS Kotsay!!!
wtg new new new guy
Way to make the city love you, Kotsay.
New new new guy!
By the way, hi all.
Wsy to go, newest new guy!
By reading comments, I can tell who has Nesn and who has mlb.tv, cause the comments are before I see the play online.
Kotsay!
I’m watching YES unfortunately….
I think I’m going old school with the Mark Kotsay nickname, and just gonna call him “Kots”.
The only bad thing about Kotsay coming here is less Jacoco time.
Let’s go, AC!
Jacoco? Like, Jacoby and Coco? I don’t get it….
Yep, it’s Jacoby and Coco put together, because they’re both CFers, so when you put them together you get Jacoco Crispbury.
HA! I love it. My best friend bought me an Ellsbury shirt from a Baltimore game she went to a while ago. I love it so much….
Jacoby
“Jacoco” is the funniest thing I’ve heard all day!
Though I have to admit, I’m okay with less Jacoco and more just Jacoby… though Coco has been playing better since getting back in the lineup daily…
TG: A-Rod is definitely not a failure. However, he very much is a victim of circumstances that he helped to create.
His asshattery last year at the end of the World Series was a disgrace to the game, and his newer, bigger deal netting him $25M+ per year makes him a very attractive target for criticism. He’s done a lot, but the problem is, having the biggest contract in baseball, you expect him to have the production to match. It’s pretty much impossible to meet these expectations, but that’s the situation he created for himself by making himself so pricey–and by intentionally making himself the center of attention with his antics.
Here’s an article about Jacoco Crispbury from ST.
(To those who were here yesterday, I think this is the one Piney found.)
