Watch Your Back, Paps

Justin Masterson’s only been in the bigs a short while, and he’s already gone Hollywood.

First Pedroia, then Papelbon and now Masterson fancy themselves quite the thespians. Backup career, perhaps?

at least he’s a better actor than Pedroia.

    “I can’t believe it, it’s Jim Rice!”
My brother still makes fun of that commercial.

I’m probably more amused by these Olympia Sports commercials then I should be. Is there a story behind the “Rusty” name or was that just thrown in there?

I just want to know what he did with the clothes he had on in the cab.

Gave them away to adoring fans?

    Tall, long-limbed fans, I hope…

His head appears to be about an inch from the cab roof.

He’s definitely the best I’ve seen of the current roster of Sox actors. Paps I think is even worse then Pedroia.

We can’t count out Wake and his jewelry store commercials.

I saw that commercial today. I just adore him–my favorite baby Sox, I would say.

And yes, he’s a much better actor that Pleats and Paps.

    What a game, eh? WOW!

I think I’ve probably watched this 10 times since it was posted. I don’t know what I find so amusing with it. Masterson is definitely a better actor than Pedie, though.

I think the key is that he wasn’t really acting – this is pretty much like his daily life. For a fair comparison we need to see him talking to Crazy Hair Guy in a Sullivan Tire commercial.

The Sullivan Tire guy scares me.

I remember Timlin doing a commercial for a limo company which was pretty good. But then again, he also did a little voice acting in the show Arthur, so yeah. He’s probably the best of the bunch because I think he was the one in the show that got the most lines(then again you had Johnny Damon and Edgar Renteria there too…Damon acting — no. Edgar was okay)

He’s no Bronson Arroyo with the acting!

Then again, who is? Bronson is the Robert DeNiro of ballplayers.

Masterson “acts” rings around the rest of them. :)

They show that Timlin limo commercial at the Lowell Spinners games.

Timlin clearly wins the acting contest, by a mile.

    Love that Bronson commercial, though!!

Before you put this up, I had stumbled upon the guy who produces these ads on YouTube. I asked him to put this up, and he said he would.
He also said that Justin was a great guy, really nice and easy to work with.
Would we expect anything less from him? :)

I think Pedie definitely wins hands down. But seriously, Masterson is a really good actor. And I don’t think Damon’s acting is that bad. He was good in that Dunkin Donuts commercial with Theo.

Bronson’s commercial made me laugh so hard. “Shit! Would you believe a double?”
