Diversionary Tactic

What’s that you say? There was a game last night? Or, rather a “game”, during which the Sox looked hapless and bumbling and rather Barney Fife-like? I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Hey! Look over there! What’s that!

It’s another convenient diversion from Jonathan Papelbon! (brought to you by the good folks at Comcast.)

Javier Lopez and Justin Masterson ripping on Paps really helps soothe the angry beast. And David Pauley being generally confused about whether to rip on him or take the contest seriously is quite charming.

Who knew Justin Masterson could be so funny? Goofy, yes.

    I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Isn’t that the truth. What a horrible “game.” gawwwd, it was unwatchable. Our bats and pen need to pull it together.

Great video! Masterson is just great. “Now I can hang out with the sports writers.” heeheee

Is the 2009 schedule final? It’s completely biased against west coast fans! Only ONE trip to Oakland and it’s in the middle of the week? No Seattle in the summer (for an extended road trip for us)? That’s just wrong.

Oh, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you so much. I really needed this this morning. Plus, I really heart Justin Masterson, even after what happened on Tuesday. Wait, I mean what didn’t happen. Nothing happened, right?

I’m actually kinda surprised the three pitchers were able to fit shoulder to shoulder into those seats; I’m a pretty small girl and I can barely sit in between two guys without feeling squished.

And I totally thought the prize would be a honey-baked ham. Who’d have guessed that was Paps’ previous job? I’m dying to hear what his old employers thought of him.

I think the ham glazing is too funny. But seriously…..from the beast like pitching to the drunken jigging to the drag queening to the ham glazing….who lives this kind of life? Can you but imagine what revelations will come next……..

I love watching Papelbon on comcast, always entertaining. He was also on the best damn sports show last night. Masterson does look like he would be entertaining.

Masterson is a huge joker. I met him in January, when they did the Rookie Development Program thing, and he was great with the fans–smiling and laughing and trying to be nice to everyone who wasn’t talking to Buchholz at the time (who he was sitting right next to).
