Ahh I remember Catcher and the Rye, one of the few books I enjoyed in school.

  2. 2008 September 7 at 4:44 pm

Not to make myself sound too old but I wish the internet was around when I was in high school.

Ian, one sentence in and it’s bad–

“This book has been steeped in controversy since it was banned in America after it’s first publication.”

    Wrong its.

fc: That was one skill I was never taught, and I regret it to this day. (Granted, some of the sentences I write now would look like a baobab if I attempted to diagram them!)

And this just in: Jacoby’s voiceover work for Volvo? Not so hot. Not nearly as bad as Pleats-in-Cleats, but he certainly shouldn’t quit his day job.

This is all you need, Liza.

I too wish I had internet back then. Although I was happy to have a computer at home to type up papers on. Dad being a sports writer, made our life easier, technology wise.

  8. 2008 September 7 at 4:46 pm

Liza, Ian doesn’t know that rule. (ducks for cover)

  9. 2008 September 7 at 4:46 pm

Not literally dancing–add vinegar and baking soda to water and put raisins in them and they float all around.

    Still, though.

    I hate raisins.

same here Karen. my dad was in computers so we always had a computer.

    The good ol’ Commodore 64.

fc obviously had better English teachers in the Newington School System then I did.

Yeah, but Crisp is on second and Jacoby is on first. Jacoco doesn’t make sense there. . . .

Angels just won 3-2 in the 9th. So the Sox didn’t get their sweep.

Jacoco sounds like a drink. Crispbury sounds like a dessert – like a blueberry crisp.

    Communicate, guys!
I’m glad that play worked out without damage.

  34. 2008 September 7 at 4:57 pm

I’d have to think they were both yelling for the ball but didn’t hear each other while running.

Crisp is always slamming into things and rolling around on the ground to make catches. I love it.

And Pedie will never be able to live that commercial down. Ever.

  36. 2008 September 7 at 4:59 pm

Anyone see Youk’s latest Bernie’s commercial? He’s no Masterson, but compared to Pedey’s it’s pretty good.

  37. 2008 September 7 at 5:00 pm

Who was it that said Jacoby did some kind of voiceover for Volvo? Say what?

  38. 2008 September 7 at 5:00 pm

So I just opened up my Spanish book since I’m required to use 15 vocab words in my essay. And none of the hundred spanish words in the vocab list are translated. Not cool.
