Josh Beckett is taking Kevin Millar’s call to Cowboy Up quite literally.
In true cowboy fashion, Josh Beckett prepared for his overnight flight to Tampa by wearing roper boots with his No. 19 and the Red Sox logo stitched into the leather.
“Josh is the last guy I would worry about,” said David Ortiz. “The guy knows how to fight back. He’s smart and has good stuff. We count on Josh no matter what happens and we believe he’s going to come out strong.”“Those are the guys we want going,” said Dustin Pedroia. “They’re our horses. They get Josh first and we need to try to find a way to win that game [to get to Lester].”
“We couldn’t pick a better pitcher to have on the mound in Josh,” said Red Sox backup catcher Kevin Cash. “I don’t care what he’s done his last two outings, everybody knows Josh Beckett and what he’s done in the postseason, so we’re a very confident team right now.”
“We know that Josh will show up ready to go,” said rookie Jed Lowrie. “All we can do is win.”
josh beckett’s asskicking boots are on….all i can say is whatever the future holds we need our josh to excute his pitches and be the bad ass texan we know he can be…..
I demand pictures. STAT. We need Beckett to be Beckett

The thought of Beckett in cowboy boots makes me obscenely happy.
Well, Erica- that is Beckett-in-boots above. Now whether those are the fabled Red Sox-embroidered boots is another story.

I think he has “ASS KICKER” embossed on the soles of his boots. Y’know, so when he kicks asses, said asses are permanently marked.
I love it when the writers think it’s necessary to quote Kevin Cash. It’s like they have a checklist: Papi’s opinion? Check. Fan-favourite loudmouth’s opinion? Check. Rookie’s opinion? Check. Bench player whose opinion rougly 3 people care about? Check.
Count me in as one of the three who care what Cash Money has to say. I love that little fucker. ;D
