Bad news people. Lowell appears to be done.

That is bad news. I have been registering to buy post season tickets many times, I finally got picked. This would be good news, except I am broke. I feel bad, because there are so many who would like this chance. I am going to see if I can come up with the money somehow. Just stinks, that it is when I don’t have money. I can buy 2 tickets, not like I have any sox friends, besides this blog.

  3. 2008 October 6 at 5:26 pm

Let Texy know because she’s been trying to get tickets.

    Aaaahhhh, shit, Ian.

It was painful to watch Mikey at the plate and in the field last night, so I’m not terribly surprised, but still…

Ian – All I can say about that is “aw shit no.”

Here’s the link which I failed to provide y’all. I won’t be putting it up on my blog til later.

As much as I want Mikey in the lineup, I am more concerned that he doesn’t somehow cause further muscle damage. At this point, (as much as I hate to say this) it is more beneficial to both Mikey and the team for him to sit. I don’t want to watch him visibly in pain, I already know he’s tough, a great player, and a great teammate.

    BEAT LA!!

As much as I love the guy…Mikey’s lack of range has been catching up with us. He seems to be hoping to draw walks instead of swinging at stuff he normally would. At the very least, he needs to take a few days off.

Also, we’ve still got Sean Casey, who, as far as I know, is still on the roster and had a .322 average during the season, but has yet to see an AB this post-season…did I miss some major news on him? Because I’d start him over Kotsay at this point. But what do I know…

  9. 2008 October 6 at 6:37 pm

Meghan – There’s no major news on Casey other than he’s a slow runner. Francona said today that he wants the more agile and fastest first baseman out there since the Angels bunt well and are good base stealers.

Maybe Casey ran over Franconas dog? He can’t even get a pitch hit at bat!

    Mikey’s officially done:

Not surprised – I don’t know why Tito even played him last night.

Rays just beat the White Sox.

    Crap.

As much as I don’t like the Rays, it’s their first time in the post season, must be cool for them. I just really don’t like the fact that most of their fans, have just joined the bandwagon recently. They don’t have true fans, like the Sox do.

Karen…plus, they’re formidable and we have to face them next! Eek.

  17. 2008 October 6 at 8:35 pm

They got booed during their celebration by the White Sox fans

Y’all, I had major issues sleeping last night and am about worthless at the moment. No idea whether I can even make it through the game, and I’ll probably watch most of it from bed. But I did want to stop by and yell GO SOX very loudly, and I’ll probably check back here after awhile.

    Enjoy the game…

I have been nauseous for hrs, Sager is not helping. Didn’t realize how cute Gil is.

  20. 2008 October 6 at 8:37 pm

Congrats to Gil, but I do feel bad for Mikey!

Why does Sager get to choose his own clothes?

Booing? Wow, folks from the South Side are harsh. I mean, I wouldn’t be cheering, I’d just get up and leave in disgust. But sticking around to heckle is pretty low.

Then again, I live in Philadelphia. But I’ve never booed Santa Claus, I swear!

I’m debating about going back to the Trop to see sox and rays, if that is where they play. I hate that place so much, so loud, but cheap.

    Nice 1-2-3 inning Lester!

*If we advance*, I hope the games in Tampa are not the night before my early morning classes or the Memory Walk because I really want to try and make it out

Well, according to the mlb postseason schedule webpage, Tampa will have the home field advantage if they play the sox.

  36. 2008 October 6 at 8:49 pm

Well in that case, I could go to game 2 on the Saturday… and since my Uncle is coming down Wednesday with the family maybe he can get us *including me* (fingers crossed) tickets to the game…. who knows!

I missed the reason for Gil being congratulated…

  38. 2008 October 6 at 8:50 pm

Gil is now on the ALDS roster in place of Mikey, after 11 seasons in the minors

  39. 2008 October 6 at 8:55 pm

So thanks to everyone again for the dinner themes…
After all that, we had to postpone the vote until the next meeting because we had too many things to discuss.
