This is a bit late since you talked about it yesterday before I got to the thread but Boyz II Men would be great. Though they are going to be at Disney next Thursday/Friday for the Food & Wine Festival. So wanted to see them too, but I’ll be at a convention.

Jules – I have no idea where Big Game Shields came from. First off, before this year, the Rays have never played a big game. Secondly, his post-season record in 1-2. That just screams big game pitcher.

I was talking with a co-worker today and we decided that when it comes to your team losing, there are two different kinds of fans. The first kind hopes the team that defeated their favorite team wins, because that somehow mean their favorite team lost to “the best”. The other kind wants the team that beat their favorite team to go down in flames and feel the disappointment their team felt, only on a grander scale.
I’m definitely the latter.

OMG they are weird.
The old “I want the team that beat me to win, because it makes my team look better” argument is dumb because NO ONE in, like, Denver ever goes: “Huh, the Rays won the World Series. That means the Sox are good!”
Is it just me or does Longoria never do anything with his legs–he doesn’t swing with them, he doesn’t throw with them…
How was that a good play by Longoria? He knocked down a ball and then threw it in the dirt. It was the 1B guy who managed to get the out.
My friend is going to the game on Sunday (she’s a HUGE Phils fan) and is super excited. I asked how the hell did she manage to get tickets and she said the lottery system. I’ve never met anyone who had managed to get tickets through that thing before – proof that it works!
I want to go to Philly someday for the cheese steaks.
