Gameplan
Gather ’round boys and girls, I’m about to lay down the Gameplan For The Offseason. This is also known by its alternate name “Trying To Keep Ourselves Occupied Until February”.
Don’t think that just because the season’s over that this place is going to turn into a ghost town. Just like last year, there will be a whole lot going on (even though there’s nothing going on the field). Expect frequent dispatches on such important topics as: hot stove trades, hot stove potential trades, hot stove rumors, hot stove rumors that turn out to be the insane ramblings of CHB, and cake. OK, maybe not cake, but all the latest news and random ephemera in the Soxverse – because the guys are still doing nutty things in the offseason, and everyone deserves to be able to hear about them.
Also, by popular demand, we’ll have open gameday threads for the World Series. This will be a first: non-Sox game threads! Yes, America, Red Sox fans are capable of enjoying baseball played by people not in Boston uniforms. The WS may not be as fun without the Sox in it, but we can all commiserate together- and actually get to kick back and enjoy watching the games without puking from nervousness. Hooray!
There will not generally be talk about football, basketball or hockey… although if Josh Beckett shows up at a football game again, or Dustin Pedroia sheepishly pulls on a Celtics shirt courtside, then all bets are off. Although I confess I cannot guarantee a little Longhorn tidbit won’t slip past. They’re ranked #1, y’all – I got to enjoy that while it lasts.
So there’s a lot to look forward to, as we’re looking out at the long expanse until P&C. I’ve also got some sitewide stuff in the works- but you’ll just have to wait and see what that is. If you read an interesting article about the players, or find a funny picture or video, send it along… anything to make the winter pass faster.
And because it can’t ever be said enough: GO SOX!

Jennie, I saw that video yesterday and it only established further hate toward Manny. At least our guys made it to the Championshp Series.
By the way, I’m rooting for the Rays in the WS.
