Rice Is HOF Bound
Finally, at long last, Jim Rice is headed for Cooperstown.

The 2009 induction was Rice’s last shot at the Hall – and he barely squeaked in by seven votes (76.4% of the ballots voted yes on Rice). Rice (and Rickey Henderson) is the first left-fielder elected to the HOF in twenty years. The last guy to do it? Carl Yastrzemski in 1989.
I haven’t always agreed with everything Jim has had to say, but his contribution to the ballclub is undeniable. He spent his entire career (16 years!) patrolling the left field at Fenway, and racked up an amazing list of accomplishments along the way. He is a huge part of the Red Sox ethos and history, and it’s fantastic to see him rewarded for a fabulous career and enter the Hall wearing a Sox cap.

Congrats to Jim! Finally in the HOF
“I can’t believe it, it’s Jim Rice”
hehe I had to add that.
Congrats!
LOL, Angie. Pleats at his best.
Excellent.
I have a sneaking suspicion re who will throw out the first pitch on Opening Day.
Congratulations to Rice! That took way too long.
(And Angie stole my thunder–I totally had a “I don’t believe it, it’s Jim Rice… in the Hall of Fame” joke all lined up.)
Congrats to Rice.
Angie – LOL. You beat me to it.
