Spring Is In The Air

The weather outside may be frightful, but spring is officially on the way: Red Sox Truck Day will be on February 6th.

Is there another city in America that gets as jazzed up about a bunch of jockstraps and baseball bats being loaded on a moving truck? I don’t think so.

The truck will be loaded on Friday the 6th, and drop off its precious cargo in Ft. Myers on Monday the 9th. P&C then report three days later on Thursday the 12th – with the first workout scheduled on Saturday the 14th. Now that’s my kind of Valentine’s Day gift.

SPRING IS COMING, Y’ALL.

While we’re at it, let’s take a look at the TV spring training coverage.

NESN will televise nine preseason games, including the Citi Field home opener against the Mets on April 3rd. They’ll also have their standard wall-to-wall coverage of all the goings-on in Florida.

A 30-minute Red Sox Spring Break LIVE special kicks off NESN’s coverage from Fort Myers on Thursday, February 12 at 7:00 PM- the day pitchers and catcher report, followed by live two-hour morning editions of the program on six of the next ten days that are scheduled to coincide with the team’s on-field workouts.

And Comcast NE will also be on hand:

Gary Tanguay and Michael Felger will be there live, twice-a-night at 6:30 and 10 p.m. beginning Monday, February 16 through Friday, February 21. The Late Edition on Thursday, February 20, will be at a special time – 9:30 p.m. – immediately before Celtics Pre-Game Live.

Hooray!!! Yeah I don’t have much constructive things to say but I did come across this about Sean Casey. Apparently he’s retiring?
