Sneak Peek

The Red Sox will close out their spring training season with a slate of two exhibition games against the Mets in New York… and apparently, it’s never too early to get excited about that matchup.

During the Mets’ testing of the giant jumbotron scoreboard at the newly constructed Citi Field, look who popped up on the screen — well, besides David Wright:

Looks like Lowrie snagged himself that SS spot – and Wakefield is still pitching in the 7th. C’mon, Sox – let’s get some runs!

Thanks to metsgrrl for the tip!

    That’s great!

Lugo was pretty sure of himself being the SS. Now that Jed’s wrist is better, I’m curious to see how he does offensively. Defensively, he was an upgrade over Lugo.

I don’t know if anyone has already seen this or not but it is sooo cute. It’s a video about a little boy who loves Josh Beckett.

@fc: It’s all rainbows and sunshine in the Mets alterna-verse!

@Angie: He’s gotta play somewhere – and Mikey LoLo is way more dispensable than Youk.

Thank you for posting that link. The “root, root” had me ROTFLMAO.

Does anybody else get flashbacks to the 13th inning of Game 5 when they see the line:

    P-Wakefield
    C-Varitek

    together?

Definitely looks like a solid line-up for interleague play, though. (And that would mean we’d get to see our pitchers at the plate, which is worth it for the entertainment value alone.)

@Texy: Ouch – Mikey, dispensable. How times change. Remember who played, and who wore the parka in the dugout in Colorado?

  14. 2009 February 23 at 11:24 pm

    @fc: PARKA!

Wait- are you, the resident Warthog Lady telling me you want Youk to ride the pine?

  15. 2009 February 23 at 11:52 pm

@Texy: No, no – and believe me, I questioned it then. I just want to give Mikey some respect; he hasn’t been getting much lately. Don’t ask me to choose between my children!

But, seriously dude – Warthog Lady? No.

@fc: WL for short? No? How about Youkarama?
