    Hey guys! What’s up? You’ll be interested to know that I’ve decided that I will purchase a FAILHAT next time I’m at Fenway. Not because I like it or anything; I plan to use it as a punishment, like a dunce cap, to better my life. Screw up? Put on FAILHAT. Do something completely stupid? Wear FAILHAT. Talk about a ballplayer’s physical attributes at an inappropriate time? FAILHAT.

    What do you think?

    @Twinkie: You’re a glutton for punishment.

    Alright, boys. Once more into the breach. Let’s be 3-6 in a few hours rather than 2-7, shall we?

    @jules: I really am, I suppose. But I really do need to stop doing all those things.

  5. 2009 April 15 at 3:38 pm

    @Twinkie: LOL. That’s funny. Of course buying a FAILHAT is just supporting it and allowing it to live and torture us for many years to come. Bad FAILHAT…bad!

    I’m still at work. Not sure I am going to be able to catch this game. If my computer works and I can get it up and running…I might watch the game while I workout. We’ll see.

    Oh Wake…make that knuckleball…well, knuckle. We need a win and we need it BAD.

    P.S. I am still in awe…even in the loss…of Justin Masterson last night. That’s not only great pitching, but great composure being thrown into the situation and completely capitalizing.

    @shelley1005: Yeah, but at least if FAILHAT lives on a bit longer it won’t be *entirely* my fault; I saw someone wearing it when I was at work today. :/

    Let’s go Wake! Get us a win!

  7. 2009 April 15 at 3:43 pm

    @Twinkie: I like that idea.

    Then again, I have something to confess: I bought a sparkly Sox hat. I’m not kidding. It’s a double sox FAILHAT – but not the official kind, the Twins ‘47 kind. And the double Sox are sparkly. IT’S A DOUBLE FAILHAT.

  8. 2009 April 15 at 3:45 pm

    Well, la-dee-da – that was a nice inning.

  9. 2009 April 15 at 3:45 pm

    @Texy: At least it’s not pink (I hope?). Then it would be a TRIPLE FAILHAT.

  10. 2009 April 15 at 3:46 pm

    @Twinkie: I may have gone temporarily blind, but I did not go temporarily insane.

  11. 2009 April 15 at 3:47 pm

    Oh, and it goes without saying that hat is not for the ballpark. I’m not exactly sure where it’s for… maybe a fancy nightclub with a strictly casual dress code?

    Dear Sox,

    Please remember to give Wake run support this time.

    Hey all, just dropping by to say hey. I’m at work and am swamped, but will keep Gameday going in the background so I know what’s what. Here’s hoping our boys can rally today, and that our latest round of walking wounded will be on the mend SOON!

    @ Texy: is that a Texas-style failhat?
    Remember folks, I proudly wore a plain, ole failhat all last season, and then lost it at Fenway in Sept.

    I would really appreciate ESPN updating Nick Green’s uniform on GameCast. Photo shop is an easy program, fellas. And seeing a Yankees hat on him gives me the shakes.

  25. 2009 April 15 at 3:53 pm

    @Kimd: When he’s healthy…no one ever said the boy could not swing a bat.

    Since our bullpen is on it’s last leg…literally. I am hoping and praying that Wake meets his reputation and eats up some major innings.

    Brett Anderson has 33 pitches through 2 and Wake is a perfect 6 pitches, 6 strikes. (Thank you, Gameday) Oh, and MIKEY LOWELL!

  32. 2009 April 15 at 3:56 pm

    @Kimd: He hit a homerun the other day..against the Angels. I think Lowell is hitting much better than say…Papi. He’s the one I am seriously worried about. Right now he seems like a middle of the order rally killer.

  33. 2009 April 15 at 3:57 pm

    Ah nice innings again Wake…2 innings…13 pitches. Nothing bad to say about that.
