Hi all. Non Red Sox obligations (what are those???) will keep me away from the game until 8/8:30ish. So…if you could all do a good luck dance for Dice-K today, that would be great. I hope to come home…log on…and see good news…instead of this terrified feeling I have right now.

    Let’s GO RED SOX!

P.S. Welcome Back Kotsay!!! I’ve missed your somewhat creepy face!

  2. 2009 June 2 at 6:39 pm

I’m actually quite psyched to see Porcello pitch. He’s the Matt Wieters of the Tigers – except with Boras as an agent.

  3. 2009 June 2 at 7:03 pm

Morning all… haven’t been able to watch a Sox game for ages. I do have an essay I should be writing, but I’m pretty sure this is more important.

  4. 2009 June 2 at 7:05 pm

Sox baseball is always more important.

  5. 2009 June 2 at 7:07 pm

    Baseball! With cheese!

  6. 2009 June 2 at 7:07 pm

Howdy, all! I haven’t gotten around to photoshopping Masty’s face and a giraffe’s legs on a windmill yet; I’ve been wicked busy lately, but I’ll get to it!

  7. 2009 June 2 at 7:08 pm

See Jacoby? That’s what you do on leadoff.

  8. 2009 June 2 at 7:09 pm

    Well, HELLO offense!

  9. 2009 June 2 at 7:10 pm

Go Pedey! And what a nice little tap by JD.

  10. 2009 June 2 at 7:10 pm

@Mac: My brother’s in Chitown sitting watching the A’s take BP. I figured you’d appreciate.

  11. 2009 June 2 at 7:13 pm

@Texy: Nice! I’m kinda jealous – he’s gonna get to see Vin Mazzaro’s first big league start in person.

Also, Aaron Rowand has been doing ridiculously well lately. I’m starting to hate him a little less now.

  12. 2009 June 2 at 7:13 pm

Well, quick to start… quick to end.

    Please, Dice-K. PLEASE.

  13. 2009 June 2 at 7:17 pm

Dice, don’t go all heart attack pitcher on us today. That’s the last thing I need to see.

  14. 2009 June 2 at 7:17 pm

Polanco also has a Holliday-esque/Lego-like head.

  15. 2009 June 2 at 7:19 pm

    PAINT.

  16. 2009 June 2 at 7:19 pm

    DP!

  17. 2009 June 2 at 7:20 pm

I heart DPs when they don’t happen to us.

  18. 2009 June 2 at 7:21 pm

Agreed. The other team can DP all the live long day.

  19. 2009 June 2 at 7:22 pm

Maybe Dice-K needs Kotteras to catch him – utilize those knuckler catching skills.

  20. 2009 June 2 at 7:22 pm

    Crap.

  21. 2009 June 2 at 7:23 pm

This is gonna be a long game. I need a drink (or 18).

  22. 2009 June 2 at 7:24 pm

    @Texy: So what’s the Dice-K drinking game? /fills tumbler

@Texy: Uh oh. I’m just getting here and haven’t even fired up the MLB site yet…that comment doesn’t sound good. :::is apprehensive:::

    Hi, all.

Thanks for coughing up the run, Dice-K.

  25. 2009 June 2 at 7:25 pm

Oh good lord. WE WANT PENNY!

  26. 2009 June 2 at 7:25 pm

    OUTS, DICE. Get the OUTS.

  27. 2009 June 2 at 7:25 pm

I don’t need drinking game rules to tell me it’s time.

  28. 2009 June 2 at 7:25 pm

@ecl1958: Oh, we’ll let the site load up for you. It’ll be more fun that way.

  29. 2009 June 2 at 7:26 pm

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that whoever is running the Sullivan Tire twitter feed is a girl. The “yay!!!” and overuse of emoticons are a dead giveaway.

  30. 2009 June 2 at 7:28 pm

@Texy: It’s Jim Rice, freed by the internet.

  31. 2009 June 2 at 7:28 pm

Every time Dice-K starts, the alcohol sales in New England go through the roof.

  32. 2009 June 2 at 7:28 pm

    @fc: “I don’t believe it!!!!! It’s Jim Rice! :-)!!!!!!”

@Texy: Well, I see a tie score, and Don’s voice just told me that Dice avoided any further troubles (or something like that). So…that’s a start, right?

Now all I have to do is pull dinner together and get some paperwork done during the game. Yay multitasking (not).

  38. 2009 June 2 at 7:31 pm

Why is Heidi Watney wearing Detroit Tiger colors? WARDROBE FAIL.

  39. 2009 June 2 at 7:32 pm

    @Texy: FAILHAT on Heidi Watney.

  41. 2009 June 2 at 7:33 pm

@Mac: This should be a basic thing you check before packing for a roadtrip: did I pack clothes in the opposing team’s colors?

@Mac: Heidi’s FAILHAT might as well be super-glued to her hair.

  43. 2009 June 2 at 7:33 pm

@ecl1958: It’s that new Papi shirt.

  44. 2009 June 2 at 7:35 pm

Whee! A pitcher on someone else’s team can’t field a ball!

  45. 2009 June 2 at 7:35 pm

@Texy: If that’s true I will buy TEN PAPI SHIRTS.
