Hey y’all!!!!
Smoltz interview on NESN…I soooooooooo can’t wait for tomorrow. I booked my calendar at work so I wouldn’t get sucked into a late meeting and miss the beginning of the game.
I hope Lester kicks ass tonight.
LOL…Smoltz mad at Kotsay for spreading rumors about what games he’s good at. (when asked about playing cribbage)
I’ll actually be in Atlanta tomorrow night and am hoping that the game is available on local cable, just as it is regionally down here.
My computer is behaving but this page is loading slowly again, dagnabit.
@ecl1958: Are you going to a game in Atlanta?
It’s almost Smoltz day!
Also, NATSTOWN!
Hi all! Let’s hope the Sox will be taking NatsTown by storm again tonight!!!
GO SOX!! GO LESTER!!!
@jules: Bethie and I are going for the entire series this weekend! :::happy dance:::
@ecl1958: You guys are going to have the best time. My grandpa has been to almost every ballpark in the country and always says Turner Field is his favorite.
Hello all !
@ecl1958: :: jealous ::
But seriously, good for you! Will this be your first time seeing the Sox in person? You will have a blast!
@Liza: That’s a life-goal for me: go to every ball park, but it’ll take a while (my hubby and I have talked about doing that when we retire).
Speaking of the Braves, GO BRAVES!!! Beat the MFYs.
Jonny’s lookin sharp tonight.
Nice K Les….and giving a 1-2-3 right back to the Nats.
Hello everyone. Good inning for Lester
@ecl1958:
I’ll be seeing you on Saturday!
@Liza: @jules: I’m very, VERY excited — these will be my first major league games, period. We’ve got decent seats along the third base line, and I am so looking forward to seeing my boys IN PERSON, y’all!
Sorry for the delay in reply…I’m trying to pack and the page is loading slowly. Double whammy!
@ecl1958: First games EVER!?!?!?!?!?! That’s great! You’ll have so much fun. By third base? Near Mikey??? :: swooooooooon ::
You’ll also have a great view of Youk’s batting stance (it’s hilarious from the third base side).
(sorry for punctuation abuse ;-)
@ecl1958: Enjoy it. I haven’t been to the new stadium but I’ve been to some games in Atlanta. I’m a big fan of the nightlife there though.
@Ian: Hi Ian!
Hey batters…run the pitch counts up and get to the bullpen asap.
Texy i had tons of people asking me if the Longhorns had won it all at the golf tournament today.
@LauraLovesBrando: YAY! Red Sox Nation South is out in full force!
@jules: hola and yes i agree. We all saw how good their bullpen is.
@ecl1958: Have fun !
Hey, greenie is starting again ! *sorry lugo, unless you hit a walk-off, Greenie > Lugo*
@Sam says : Tazawa !!: Even without the walk-off, Greenie >>>>>> Lugo on defense. That play last night was epic. Green has better range and a cannon for an arm. He had quite a few errors at first, but he’s improved a lot.
@Sam says : Tazawa !!: It’s hard to hit a walkoff when your manager doesn’t let you play in the game. . . .
NO KILLING OUR SHORTSTOP.
Oh god. That was scary.
Oh my….no one can blame Greenie for that. How did he avoid that bat?
damn bats. Something has to be done before someone gets hurt.
@jules: Yep, first games ever. Biggest thing I’ve seen prior to this was one AAA game, and other than that, just single-A here in Asheville.
We’re in the 200 section, so not too far up. I checked the view and it’s pretty good. The batting stances should be lots of fun to watch. And Mikey. I’m hoping to have a good view of my dear JBay too.
@Ian: Thanks — I’m not sure how much energy I’ll have for the nightlife after dealing with the heat, but I do know that I’ll have fun regardless.
DO NOT KILL GREENIE
Holy crap. that’s scary. the bat was stuck in the ground.
@jules: That’s because Green had only played 23 games at SS over something like 6 years. (He’s normally a 2B.)
@Liza: It was…that sharp point could’ve been very dangerous in the face.
OK, Lester…outs.
OUTS PLEASE.
@lone1c: Very true.
@jules: Not to mention the bat flying at his head… as someone who got hit in the head with a softball a month and a half ago and is still concussed, DNW CONCUSSIONS.
Strikes Les…Outs.
Without the bat as a weapon…Greenie has no problem with the DP.
@Sam says : Tazawa !!: They’re trying. But it’s hard to get outs when you have to get out of the way to avoid being IMPALED BY A BAT SHARD.
Late comment: Wow — scary. Good job by Nicky on avoiding getting hurt.
Okay Boys time to get some runs back.
@ecl1958:
Definitely; the last time I saw the Sox play was also the last time they came to Atlanta back in ‘06 and there were more Sox fans than Braves fans!
That’s what I’m talking about!
We’ll get that run back.
@ecl1958: You are going to have fun. I love going to games and yelling (and embarrassing my daughter is a big bonus).
Wasn’t it Green who got a bat shard stuck in his uni shoulder a while back?
@lone1c: True.
@fc: I think so, a small shard, but it was stuck on his sleeve.
I cannot get tired of that play from last night. Amazing.
@fc: Yes. I can’t remember when that was, though.
Jon’s left ear loves it when he wears a batting helmet.
I gotta admit..I love Lester at bat….it’s a comedy of errors.
