Gone To Philadelphia

I’m off to Philadelphia for the weekend – god help me. I hope to make it out of Citizens Bank Park alive, but I am not (as one of my Philly friends suggested) going to wear Phillies gear… even if it helps increase my chances of survival.

My access to the interwebz will be limited– they have electricity and the internet in Philly, right? — but game threads will go up as normal in case I’m not around to post more. Either way, I’ll see everyone back on Monday… and GO SOX!

    Have a great time!

I went to CBP in 2005 for all three weekend games and we were geared to the teeth and not one Phillies fan bothered us. It was a wonderful time. You’ll be fine in your Sox gear!

Phillies fans aren’t nearly as mean as they get blamed for. After all, you’re a Red Sox fan, not a Mets fan …
Plus they seem much nicer now that they’re Champs than they were when I lived there & they threw hoagies at their own football team.

Phillies fans hate the Braves way more than the Sox…and my wife has never had a problem wearing her #29 Braves jersey to Citizens Bank Park. Phils fans are pussycats compared to Iggles fans.

Head over to Tony Luke’s on Oregon Ave (not too far from the stadium but you’ll need a car) for an awesome roast pork & provolone sandwich!

I just got back from the game tonight. Texy, I can’t believe you were there! You’d think I’d run into you in that sea of 45,000+ people.

What a game, friends. That was complete madness. Definitely worth the ticket price.

@Maggie– Actually, we got yelled at a lot. For barely making a peep. It was ridiculous. Oh, Philly.

Have a great time, you can wear sox gear and be fine. Just don’t wear JD Drews jersy, then you might run into trouble.
