Good evening from Humidity Central aka Fenway Park.
Go Red Sox! Go Wakefield! Let’s see win number 11 here!
@fc: Is it hot? Or just humid?
Hey all. Rain is coming here in upstate NY….but right now, the weather is beautiful. Sun shining…not too hot….slight breeze. Very nice.
I am excited to see the Sox back at Fenway. Let’s go Red Sox! Let’s go Wakey…get another win and make it REAL HARD for Maddon to not take you to the big show on the 15th!
Anyone else getting MLB.tv with no sound?
@ecl1958: Never mind — sound has arrived.
Go Wakey!
Ecl:still can’t get the reply link working on my blackberry but humid so WE are HOT
Hey, all:
Go WaKefield! And congratulations to him on setting the record for most starts by a Red Sox pitcher!
@fc: Well…I hope it cools down for you! At least you weren’t in ATL with me last weekend when it was 95+. I thought I was going to have heatstroke.
Go Wake ! Hey all !
Pedey seems to be feeling at home in the 2 spot. Very nice.
@shelley1005: If they create a baseball-to-English dictionary someday, there will be a picture of Pedroia next to “number two hitter.”
Alright JayBay!
BAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bringing home Pedey….love it. JayBay wants to remind us that he is in NO SLUMP!
Oh CanadAmerica !
Wheeee
@Sam says : Tazawa !!: Another one for the nickname dictionary!
@lone1c: I guess so….it seems to fit him well.
Honestly, I am not sure I like Drew in the 1 spot. I think he’s better in the middle of the lineup…in the 3 spot or around there. I know they said they aren’t going to do it, but I would put Ells back there.
Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
PAPI…..tee, hee, hee….
Papi. ha. nice.
@shelley1005: Recipe for ideal leadoff hitter:
(1) Drew’s plate discipline and OBP
(2) Ellsbury’s speed and chutzpah
I bought a JayBay shirt today….and JayBay broke out of his little itty bitty slump. Coincidence…probably, but I’ll take credit for it.
@shelley1005: Funny.
@shelley1005: Perhaps if I had worn mine (which is in the wash right now), he would have hit a HR there…
If you think it’s humid at Fenway, fc – let me share with you the humidity of the swamp called Houston. I think I’ve lost my heat coping skills.
And ecl – my Gameday didn’t have sound for awhile, either!
Sean Casey in the booth makes me sooooooooooooooooo crazy happy.
What the hell is Heidi Watney wearing? It looks like bad 70’s wallpaper… except silk.
Nice 1-2-3 inning Wakey!!! Keep it rolling like that….
@Texy: Or, you could have come over to my house this week with a nonfunction heat pump. The morning low inside the house was about 87.
@Texy: At first I thought it was Dave Roberts with a cold in the booth. I forgot that Casey was doing the guest honors in the booth this weekend.
@Texy: Houston. I can’t even imagine. I have family there who I’ll probably never visit because I can’t take that kind of heat.
My sound didn’t stay gone for long, thankfully.
@Texy: Great to hear him, even if he does sound like he ate sandpaper for dinner!
@lone1c: I know Drew has said he really doesn’t like hitting leadoff, but contrary to public opinion….isn’t much of a complainer and will hit wherever Tito puts him in the lineup.
@Texy: Hot in Texas, eh? I could never live in the South…cause I’ll admit it, I like the cold…and the snow…and what have you.
@Texy: It’s her latest contribution to the Failhat Friday Fashion Festival from Fenway.
HAMMERHEAD!
@shelley1005: I prefer the cold over the heat too !
Greenie. Good lord…I adore you and your hammerheadness.
@lone1c: JEEEEEEZUS. No thanks.
@ecl1958: It’s lovely from November to March, tolerable in April and October, and shit-ass hot the rest of the year.
@lone1c: FUGHAT is way better than FAILHAT.
@shelley1005: My Atlanta trip proved to me that the only place in the South that I can live is here in the mountains.
Yeah Georgie!
Kottaras….more than just a pretty face!
Wow—baby catcher with a SINGLE?
Have I mentioned how much I love MLB.TV? because I do. I want to make out with that hi-def picture.
JD was swinging nowhere near that pitch.
Anybody think Drew could have made it to first on that strikeout?
@lone1c: Yup. That’s why you ALWAYS RUN IT OUT.
@Texy: Some winter I’ll get down there, I guess.
@Texy: It puts my funky little old TV to shame, that’s for sure.
More LOB disease for the Red Sox. And, in other news that should surprise no one, Pedey needs his mouth cleaned out with soap after that K.
Dammit—why can’t that foul pole be about three feet to the right tonight for the Mariners?
Alright Wakey. I’d like some outs…if you don’t mind. Thanks.
Yay for containing the damage!
And Griffey looked like he wanted to be anywhere but that box in that last at-bat.
::: wonders if everybody is so mesmerized by Sean Casey’s announcing that they’ve neglected the game thread :::
