@Jennie: I know….that’s just ridiculous. I am happy thought about Pedey overtaking Kinsely for 2nd base and JayBay just killing the rest of the OF competition.

Seriously, I think that effectively sums up just how knowledgeable and interested these voters are when they select an outfielder who’s spent the majority of the season thus far on the DL.

And, in other news, Federer finally defeats Roddick: 5-7, 7-6. 7-6. 3-6, 16-14 (!). It’s a shame—Roddick would have likely won had it not been for choking in the second-set tiebreaker.
It’s a travesty. I hope Youk has a monster game today.

Do you remember that recent tournament when Roddick was berating the line judge because of the weather? I don’t know where it was or if it’s normal to raise concerns over weather like that, but he was acting like a dick.

@LauraLovesBrando: Actually, I don’t recall that. (I largely follow the Grand Slam tournaments and the Davis Cup.) But neither Roddick nor Federer will actually win many humility contests.

@Jennie: Manny making the All-Star Team would have been a travesty. It probably would have been game-changing—MLB would have to change the voting rules after that.

I’m with you on that. If Manny had been legitimately selected, it would have been a farce, but it seems like with Hamilton’s selection, it’s just furthering all these claims of fans not being as concerned or erudite enough to adequately determine such things.
But it is the All-Star Game, so much ado about nothing..
