Boston Snags One From The Yanks

Tonight’s Sox-Halos game may still be underway, but there’s breaking news to attend to: Pete Abraham, Yankees blogger and beat reporter for LoHud, is coming to cover the Red Sox for the Boston Globe.

For anyone not already familiar with Pete, he is (in this humble Sox fan’s opinion) far and away the best Yankees blog-reporter out there. He updates his LoHud blog non-stop, and always manages to ferret out the inside scoop (and does so in a reliable manner – if he writes it, it’s true). This is a huge, HUGE coup for Sox fans. Add in Pete with the Globe’s Amalie Benjamin and Chad Finn and you’ve got one hell of a Triumverate of Kickass.

Welcome to Boston, Pete – we’ll get that Bronx stink off of you in no time!

That certainly is a big coupe for the Globe. Pete is a pro’s pro when it comes to blogging. As the newspaper industry struggles, and individual papers have to rely more and more on their online presence, a key resource will be to find quality bloggers who are able to constantly provide high quality content. Nice job by the Globe, which has been taking hits left & right in the Sports Dept.

Can we use him to phase out CHB?

What is the point of getting a Yankee fan to write a blog for a BOSTON paper? God I hate the Globe. Everyone should boycott it and the Herald.

@whaaa: He is not a Yankee fan. Check your facts. He was born and raised in New Bedford, MA, went to UMass and grew up rooting for the Red Sox.

Is this the last of the humorless anonymous comments you’re going to leave under various names, or should I be on the lookout for more of your fascinating commentary?
