Prince Fielder would be nice, but could someone explain to me why getting either Pujols or Mauer is out of the question.

Wouldn’t it be great to get Mauer and instantly quell everybody’s fear of him overextending himself at catcher by supplementing him with V-Mart? How about adding the best player in the game, wouldn’t that be great? Sure they could both resign with their respective teams, but can you envision an off season where the top two FAs sign on the cheap? I cant. Especially when considering that this will all be happening around the same time the league will be trying to get a draft slotting system in place and promoting free agency as the great equalizer.

I would love a masher on this team, but we aren’t beggars.

Shouldn’t the title of that article be changed from “Papelbon enters Cy Young debate” to “I enter Papelbon into the Cy Young debate…but it will be a short debate because no one else but my dumb ass thinks he belongs in the debate”?

Yes. Let’s throw the fourth best closer into the Cy Young debate. Brilliant.

voters are generally idiots, and will discredit Grienke because he can’t buy a win in KC. Watch CC/Verlander end up getting more votes. Also, Papelbon in any discussion for cy young is utter nonsense.

But woo hoo for Dice K! That means I wont have to see Paul Byrd pitch Game 4 of the ALDS!!

So much goodness in this post — it makes me smile. I was sorry to have to miss last night’s game, as I know it was a good one, but duty called, as it probably will for awhile (I’m embarking on a massive decluttering project for the sake of saving my health and enabling me to move to better quarters). I’ll be around when I can. Thankfully there are great bloggers like Texy to keep me in touch with all things Sox!

Um, Paps didn’t know that a closer had won the Cy Young? I know he’s not the most brilliant guy on the face of the Earth, but wasn’t he sitting next to one Eric Gagne for half a season? You know, the 2003 NL Cy Young winner. Seriously, does he clue into anything?
I’m starting to love V-Mart more and more every day. Anyone who can fire up Papi like that is fine in my book. I love that new duo.
